That was SO. GOOD. Chester's delivery, Kiiara sounding great, that little bit of instrumental at the end of the clip. It's just good. What I like is how this really feels like a LP track despite being very different from what came before this. And yes, the instrumental does sound a little LT-ish but it's a lot more polished and "emotional" to me. Just great.
She sounded a lot better than I was expecting, given that recent video of hers. Guess One More Light could be the album title?
ALL ABOARD THE HYPE CHOCOBO PEOPLE In all seriousness though, this preview is finally giving me the damn that's good moment.. The live instruments, the completely new verse writing style, Kiiara's vocal performance, all those are finally coming together for what appears to be a good single.
Here's the thing tho. This still sounds like LP. The music is typical LP(probably because we have already heard LP do a huge variety of songs already) but the vocal delivery is the main difference. They really weren't kidding when they kept saying how different the vocals were this time around.
Fantastic! Kiara's voice fits perfectly. I'm not a huge fan of her solo work, but she actually sounds pretty awesome here!
The band's music is always going to have that "LP Vibe" no matter what genre they do though. Perhaps it's due to the band's playing styles, or 'sonic identity' but even ATS (their most different album ever) feels like 'Linkin Park' in spots. I think it's unavoidable. I will say I went from not being so confident about this track (I was afraid I'd hate it), to impressed in just one clip. I just couldn't picture how this song was going to sound from what we heard, and that scared me. Now hearing some of the final vocals and music behind Kiiara, I'm pumped. Bring on tomorrow! Kiiara really brings a fun twist to the track.

I was not sure if I was too excited after the Chester's clip as it sounded quite different. But wow! As Mike said: "that was SO GOOD". Especially the clip's ending. Loving it. And the title "One More Light". Sounds great to me
This is exactly what I was trying to say. It FEELS like an LP song, but the way it is building and the delivery are different, and that's really important and interesting.
That sounds MUCH more energetic and robust than I was expecting! My fears were that the single would be a little too chilled out and toothless, but this sounds intense! Kiiara's vocals are very pleasing to my ear in this snippet. So fucking excited for Heavy!
