You've seen the little post-credits scene in that most recent LPTV episode teasing a new song. You've heard the notes in that MIDI file linked in that "Overflow" video. Maybe you ever spotted the "UFTB" hidden in a filename on that download page which the MIDI file comes from. In that case, Linkin Park is clearing the air on that mysterious acronym and apparently announcing that all those breadcrumbs are leading up to a new single announcement: This tweet, complete with an image of Linkin Park staring down at you, the viewer, reveals that "UFTB" stands for "Up From the Bottom", evidently the name of that song being worked on in that LPTV scene. No information regarding precisely when the song is coming or anything else to do with its impending release has been given to us yet. "Up From the Bottom" obviously does not appear on the band's recent album From Zero - whether it is a standalone song or something to do with that album is unknown. Recent posts from band members suggesting some sort of video or photoshoot are also thought to be connected to this single, but those links are similarly unconfirmed. All of those details are surely coming soon, but, in the meantime, fans will have to be content with gazing back up at the members of Linkin Park and pondering. Source: Linkin Park on Twitter
Can't wait to see where this all leads to. In my view, this is all going to be an extension of the From Zero cycle, with the gradual release of promotional singles during the tour, songs that were started during the FZ sessions but not finished or selected at the time. Also all looks like we getting a video for this one. Pumped!
Their comeback was one thing, but this is a kind of actualization for me that they’re well and truly back. Exciting times.
Now that you mention it I think that's probably why they did this. I doubt they want to linger in the "no we're really back you guys" phase longer than they needed to, any more than we did.
I wonder if this song was finished before the album came out and just didn't make the cut, or if this was made during the winter? Interesting that it's coming with a video, too.
So hyped for this. Love the teaser and the snippet of Mike's rap has me intrigued. I loved his delivery on From Zero, especially when he changed it up on some songs (i.e. Good Things Go). Bring on the 27th!
I'm gonna hazard a guess that there'll still be at least one more music video for a From Zero song down the line, before this tour cycle is over Probably a bit of both, per Colin saying that there were songs still being finished in the wake of the album's release. This is probably something that didn't make the final cut for the tracklist, and had the final touches put on it later, not dissimilar to "Friendly Fire".
I've been listening to this for a week like 4 times a day trying to figure out the final mix in hi-res. (the end of it is dope dope dope)
The song, along with 'The Emptiness Machine' and 'Faint' will be in Fortnite on release day If anything, it will be a damn popular song
