Hi Derek, i want to ask you something, do you really think the other 4 song's you hear are better than UIG? Please be honest, because now i really don't have the same enthusiasm of hearing the album than before :/.
I see what you meant by the similarities to a HIM track Derek. Very catchy synth mixed with basic guitar work & a catchy hook. Chester and Ville are pretty similar now that I think about it.
Yes. The entire sampler is closer to GATS in terms of maturation, growth and surprises for the band than it is to UIG. Infact UIG was a bit out of place on the sampler. No worries.
Derek please tell my one think which chester's scream is stronger Victimized or Keys? plssssssssssssssss
The best thing is no matter how many times a song is described it will sound different to what you imagined. I bet Keys, Wastelands, Rebellion and the other songs I can't remember the name of will sound nothing like we think they will. I'm still excited for THP, even if UIG caused a slight scare around here, that song has grown on me anyway. I love it now.
The problem with comparing songs to pre-existing songs is that people start to think the tracks will 'sound like that track'. Honestly the only comparison between the studio version of Qwerty and these tracks that I can feel comfortable saying is that they both have a bit of a 'punk feel' to them. Otherwise they're not really the same.

Derek one more question about the length of the songs... please tell me, Victimized is only 1,46 min what about Keys and other songs from sampler... ?
That's about as real sounding as a fart being recorded into a potato, then played over a speaker with the label of "Keys To The Kingdom". In short, that fake track sounds like ass.
Chester is screaming WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR and we can hear Shinoda's back vocals saying "Fuck, oh what the f" SO VISCERAL
That's assuming it is a real track. It's kinda hard to tell from a very bad quality 5 second video. Could it be War? Maybe. Could it be fake? Also possible. And GATS was the most "metal" but the other tracks were 'hard' as well.
If you mean what I think you mean when you say "metal" vs "hard" then it actually makes me happy. I love GATS, but if every song had that kind of feel it would come off like they were trying too hard to sound like A7X.
