After many artists getting caught Lip Synching on Televison( to name a few Ashlee Simpson,Eminem(though not proved)) and many more accused to be doing it on stage. Who do u feel or know do Lip Synching. Jus share what u feel here and let others know about it.
I tink lip synching is stupid. If they're supposed to be singing live then they should sing live. If they can't sing properly because something is wrong with their throat or something like that then they should postpone the concert and re-arrange a date. I would not want to pay money for something i could sit at home and listen to for free. Live is a different experience. If they lip synch you might as well just be in a big room with the CD playing and a few hundred people.
Yeah, Hoobastank's lead singer was sick for some awards show, yet he still sang. Sounded bad, but he tried. I have more respect than some fake lip syncher.

I would honestly rather have a bad or cancelled show then have the singer not really singing. Especially because when you're singing to a vocal track there's no room for improvisation, talking to the crowd, etc.
I don't really care either way. It's always the mainstream acts that lipsynch (IE: Ashlee @ SNL, Eminem @ MTV Awards, etc.) Yeah. I don't care, actually. If they want to, go ahead. I doubt it'll hurt their album sales or anything.
I can't get over how badly Hilary Duff Lip Synchs. It's like she's not even trying to hide it. I was watching Much Music and they were talking about Ashlee lip synching, and this guy pointed out that when artists lip synch to make their jobs easier, no one really cares, but when an athlete takes steriods to make their jobs easier, everyone's in a big up roar about it. I can't remember the exact quote, but I think that was it.
One person i know who definitely does it is Britney Spears. I can't remember what awards she sang at but it was so obvious. Honestly i don't care if they want to lip sync but if they are getting paid to do that peformance they damn well better not be lip syncing. Then you can relate that to an athlete using drugs to enhance their performance.
Lip Synching sucks. Look at Chester. He had guts to come out and sing when he knew that he would probably throw up at every show. And did he lip sync? Of course not! Being in the music business isn't just about being able to perfect your singing in the studio where you have many oppertunities to make it sound better. it's about giving great live shows. Damn pop singers. If I were paying the people to do live shows, I just wouldn't pay them if they lip-synched.
i really couldnt have said that better. plc4theglue: yeah, there was this one performance where she dressed up all victorian and she lip synched like a motherfuck. hah, she didnt even have a microphone. i was watching the ellen degeneres show with elton john and he was talking about how she shouldnt be in the category of best live act because she lip synches for some performances.
I remember reading an article about lip-synching (mainly focused on Madonna) ... and Elton John said something like, "Anyone who charges 75 bucks for a live performance and lip-synches should be shot."

Lip Synching is annoying, I think some singers do it because they know their voice can't last. They just want to beable to last a very long time, and make money.
I'd like to point out a few things that ALL of you have missed. Being a musical theater minor, I know a few things about performance. If you're trying to belt out a song (which is necessary, despite the microphones--many artists wear mikes clipped either to their clothing or hidden in their hair) and deliver an intensely complicated dance at the same time, you are going to run out of breath FAST, no matter how good of shape you're in. For artists (and I do use the term "artists" rather loosely here) such as Britney Spears, it may be nearly impossible to deliver a good performance, complete with crazy dancing. And it's not just Britney, it would be physically impossible for just about anybody. Artists such as Elton John, and even Chester and Mike have it a lot easier. They're not doing the intense choreography that is the pop star's trademark. Having performed in musicals that are heavily reliant on dance (such as FAME and Footloose), I've come to appreciate the difficulty of combining dance and vocal music. A lot of artists don't necessarily lip synch, but they do have backup vocal tracks to make their voices sound fuller. Think about it. You'd do the same in their place.
You have a point... but those who don't have radical dances and yet lipsync, I think deserve to be shot.
Chester and other rock groups jump around and are energetic through shows. If dancing is more important that singing to pop "artists," well that's just pathetic.
