Shouldn't this be in the LIVING THINGS sub-forum?

Thanks for the reviews but this album doesn't really sound like anything that can excite me.

It's basically been described multiple times as very similar to Hybrid Theory and again in these reviews. So it sounds like it's just an accumulation of things that Linkin Park have already done before and not very much that brings new things to the table.

I will still try to listen to and enjoy the album but really.... I'm not that excited anymore except for a very few songs.

Ok. I will try to make a point about this, because I'm really wondering something.

Do you prefer an album that sound a little familiar but which sound good or an album which sounds totally different but which is bullshit?

I'm almost sure you will not like this record, but not because of the sound of it, just because it won't full your expectations of "breaking boundaries".

To me, a record doesn't have to be groundbreaking or complex to be good. I'm afraid you and some other people here will not even give a real chance to the record, and be like "ok, not totally new, so not good". It's the same mentality as "No heavy guitars, so not good".

Anyway, don't take my post as an attack to your opinion, I'm not trying to be offensive neither am I trying to force you being excited about LT. I'm just suggesting you to listen to this new record without any expectations and then, see if it is good or not. Just let your ears tell you if you like the sound. If you absolutely want 100% innovative stuff, you will not be happy with Living Things. Just be open-minded about it.

Qwerty, he has his opinion. I'm also one of the ones that wish they were doing something different, but alas, it's not to be. I'm not too pumped from BID and LGM so far, but seeing as the songs all seem quite different from each other, I'm hoping there's at least a couple I'll really like.

Can you remember some lyrics from Victimized or Skin to Bone?

I'm gonna post a last message in this thread, because I'm afraid my other post was misunderstood.

I'm not asking anyone to change his/her opinion. If some people wish lp would try something totally new, I'm fine with that.

I was just trying to give some advices to enjoy that record. Don't expect Linkin Park to be the next Beatles and just listen without any expectations. This is the best thing we could do imo.

I can't wait for the album, how lucky for the mexican fans to have enjoyed a Listening Session, the US hasn't done that!

I like reading these descriptions but I always keep in mind that what really matters to me is how the album will sound when I listen to it. Don't want to box myself in, the guys have never let me down, I'm sure this album will kick ass!

Yea, I'm looking forward to both the old and new combining into one. Right now it looks like it could be their best album. Hopefully those expectations will be met, but will not be disappointed if they are not.

"It's like a journey of LP's entire discography, with lots of different music styles."

    I really liked this part.

LIVING THINGS isn't an album the band will utilize to 'break barriers' with. This album is a thank-you letter to the fans that have stuck around. This project is more or less an outlet for the band to tread upon familiar territory and have fun from my observation.

    When this began
    I had nothing to say
Except this topic was in the wrong sub-forum today

    I was confused
When I looked up to find
That it was an admin that posted incorrectly this time

    In spite of this
I really do like these reviews
Especially with the mention of many genres to choose

    Nothing to lose
Just stuck, waiting for the CD
I'm glad it's not just me, glad it's not just me
