Well your friends, have become so numb to "good" music. But In the End it doesn't really matter, haters will hate.
The original is always better my friend. But I get what your saying. I actually like Meteora more then HT but Hybrid Theory is the better album of the two
Let us agree, to disagree. I love Meteora way too much to let Hybrid Theory take this one. Meteora has about 5 songs that land in my top 10 Linkin Park songs, and Hybrid Theory has only contributed 1 song on my top 10 list.
My top 10 Linkin Park songs? Faint, Breaking The Habit, Lying From You, Figure.09, In The End, Bleed It Out, No Roads Left, New Divide, The Catalyst, & Wretches and Kings. My mistake, 4 Meteora songs. *Not in that order *A Thousand Suns songs will eventually be added over the course of a year I'm 99% sure I end with, don't hate, to each their own.
Anything not heavy is unappealing to most young rock fans. Give them death metal, black metal and doom metal and they won't complain even a tiny bit.
I hate to burst your bubble and everyone else's but if your friends don't like the new album they are fully entitled to their own opinion... Don't get me wrong, I love the new album, despite being a former Linkin Park purist myself. That being said, your friends aren't not "true Linkin Park fans" because they don't like the new album. I'm sure no "true Beatles fan" will fault a purist with hating, say, the White Album.
All those haters begging for a HTIII are on teenage angst. Do not worry man, as long as we continue to move on, LP and their real fans (or lucky people who just happened to love the album) will rise while the (immature) haters will be Burning in the Skies. They are all robots, they are all monkeys, they will all dance if the beat's funky. (there's my contribution to this!). Anyways, welcome to the LPA! and I'm in that minority Minus was talking about when it comes to ATS = best album ever.
Not everyone who dislikes the album is begging for a return to Hybrid Theory / Meteora stylings. Not everyone who likes the album is evaluating it on its own merits. I think dismissing the pro- or anti-ATS parties demonstrates a real ignorance for trying to understand from and learn about other people's opinions. I think there are plenty of people on both sides saying interesting things about the album.
