Just heard "Mission" today, and damn that's such an awesome song. Not really a huge fan of the other songs though. He's starting to get into the rap music that I've always disliked. And I'm kinda sad to hear that there won't be any politics in his songs, cause those songs with politics in them were some of his best (I absolutely love "Unforgivable Youth"). Hoping Tetsuo & Youth will sound like Lasers.

 

I love the new single. Just a little rachet, a little club but still has great Lupe lyrics. I like that he sounds like he's enjoying himself a bit more. Just because he's not smoking a J in a room full of strippers doesn't mean the man still doesn't enjoy having some fun and releasing some clubbier songs.

I like it. I also liked Snitches 1& 2. He warned us early on that T&Y would be a little ratchet.

If you listen closely, "Next to It" has some pretty deep lyrics, especially in the third verse. I thought it was a club jam before I read the verses.

 

But the execution is piss poor imo. Hate this whole 'educated ratchet' music Lu is trying to make here.

 

I love it. A different Lu for each album. He's my favorite rapper. I also like ignorant shit. I don't think it's fair he had to be in a box where he can do certain styles or certain beats. If you read the lyrics (even the chorus) knowledge is being dropped.

Glad those tracks didn't make the cut. Would much rather have new songs.

Layered is an understatement. I'm pretty good at deciphering Lupe lyrics but even things that seem like normal hooks are CRAZY references. Stole this from KTT forum deciphering the album:
