I was just wondering about what bands/artists are on Mike Shinoda's Machine Shop label. Earlier today, I went to the Music For Relief site to see whether there was a confirmation about Linkin Park playing at the Live 8 concerts (there was). I looked at the bands/artists/labels who belonged to Music For Relief; there was a link to Machine Shop Marketing. In the site, the current promotions include Linkin Park, Papa Roach, TRUSTcompany, Weezer, and Staind, as well as links to MTVU and MSM college reps. I know that at one point the band 'The Rosewood Fall' were signed to Machine Shop; I can't find any links to the band. This is the question: Does anybody know exactly what bands/artists are signed or affiliated to Machine Shop Recordings? Machine Shop Marketing
Styles of Beyond and Holly Brook? I think they are on the label. Rosewood Fall Site Holly Brook Site Simplistic Site Styles of Beyond Site No Warning Site
The Rosewood Fall and Simplistic were signed for development deals, where Linkin Park helps them make a demo and gets them showcases with other labels. They're not signed to Machine Shop for record deals where their albums would be distributed through Machine Shop. It's simply some economic help and recognition. Styles of Beyond and No Warning are signed to record deals with Machine Shop, though. Not sure whether Holly Brook is signed for development or a contract though. I'd guess development. Machine Shop Marketing and Machine Shop Records are two entirely different things altogether. The Marketing company just lets people signed up for their newsletter about bands who are releasing new albums and whatnot. It seems like Geffen and their artists (TRUSTco, Papa Roach, Staind) has partnered up with MSM for this.
Yeah, Geffen's bands have always had a close relationship with LP. Makes you wonder if that's where they might be headed if they get away from Warner...
I think I read somewhere that Brad was the A&R guy for Holly. But then again, she could still be signed to someone else... I think... right?
If Geffen is part of Warner Music (I think Geffen is part of Interscope, not sure) they should move to Machine Shop. Anybody know the official Machine Shop site? I tried www.machineshoprecords.com, it goes to a black and red site that says '<<<soothing voices>>>'; it also has a link to sparkart (they helped design linkinpark.com and fortminor.com). I'm guessing that it's the official site and it's under construction. If it isn't the official site, and you know the real one, please post it here.
