I'm definitely intrigued about this. I read about this in my copy of Kerrang! yesterday, and he mentioned something about this album being more sombre and slower than his previous releases, so i'm very interested to hear what it'll be like.
Cannot wait for this album. Some very interesting track titles, but what can you expect from manson? lol
I'm pretty sure this isn't the final tracklisting. When I was on MansonUSA the other day it said it was just a promo cd that may be the final tracklisting. It's all a rumor right now, I believe, but I can't check right now. I'm definitely excited for this album. The vampire reference made my excitement sink a little bit, and then what I've heard about the new single, to be released later this month, made it go down a little more, but I'm a huge fan of Marilyn Manson, and I can't wait to listen. I just wish he'd do something that is like ACSS/MA/HW/POAAF. That'd be the coolest shit ever. EDIT: I just checked out the website now that I'm at a better computer, and it does look like this is finally official. Good thing. I'm really hoping for better than GAOG, lyrically.
...so i totally got wrong info. alot of people told me this was supposed to come out last week. was it delayed or something?
I think it was because he said it was a spring release, and some magazines reported fake dates like March 23rd. It has been set for June by Manson from the very beginning. Double post, I'm sorry, but if you want to hear a 30 second clip of the new single go here: http://www.radiofrance.fr/chaines/lemouv/annuaire/fiche.php?id=5000784 I'm liking it.
When I first listened to it, I didn't really get a feel for it. A lot of it is different and it's a definite sound change. The second time I listened to it, I found myself getting more into it because I was more used to the sound. The best songs on the album in my opinion are Just a Car Crash Away, If I Was Your Vampire, and Are You The Rabbit?
The album blows Year Zero away. That album is nothing compared to this. Tim Skold really impressed me. I was surprised he could even do what he does. The album is very emotional. You can feel it. The first half of the album is all about love and heartbroken(Small), and the second half is lighter(Big). I think it's kind of a concept going along with the whole Alice in Wonderland thing. 1-5 -6- 7-11. 1-5 Post-Divorce, 7-11 Pre-Divorce. And HSG, of course, was Post-Divorce, as well, but it's the middle one that leads you in between. I love this album.
This is one of those albums where I can't listen to it all the way through because it can get very repetitive. But it's a decent album. Putting Holes To Happiness is absolutely amazing. Prob. one of my favorite songs of the year.
Meh. I still say Year Zero is FAR BETTER than this album, just like any other NIN album compared to Manson, and the only reason Antichrist Superstar was so good was because Trent produced it. Just listen to Heart Shaped Glasses. I rest my case. It could be worse. It could be Minutes to Midnight.
