I really enjoyed it! I hope that later down the line (if they get more seasons), that they'll start planting the seeds for SPOILERS FOR CAP 2 AND AGENTS OF SHIELD: the Hydra infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D.
I got a chance to watch the first three episodes tonight and I'm glad I did. I'm completely invested in the show now. It's not without its faults, but I think it's great. I'm interested to see where they go with Leviathan and whether or not it will tie into Hydra's eventual infiltration of S.H.I.E.L.D..
Agent Carter's boobs are about the only thing holding my attention. Otherwise so far it's one cliche after another. Decent production value, but the story is a dud.
The episode last night was good. Probably the first one I've really liked. Still a huge step down from Agents Of Shield. Can't wait for that to come back.
I think it's been very good right from the start. I'd take it over AoS any day of the week. Best thing that could happen, IMO, is AC is renewed for season 2 but bumped up to 12 episodes instead of 8, and then AoS season 3 is downsized to 16 episodes.
It just seemed like a waste of time the first however many episodes. I could see one or two episodes with her coworkers treating her like a nobody, but it got old. How do they not know who she is? They know she was close with Captain America but nothing else? The only reason I think it's good now is because they're finally figuring out that she's done all of their jobs by herself and behind their backs. And the characters on the show really just aren't that great. Peggy is obviously the best with everyone else coming in way behind. Agents of Shield really overshadows this show in that regard.
I don't think it's better than Agents – not by a long shot. Its ratings aren't very high, either, so I could see Marvel moving Agent Carter to Netflix for a second season if they produce one. That said, I thought it was decent all the way around, but it wasn't as exciting as I thought it'd be. For being an eight-episode series with no guarantees for a second season, you'd think the show would've been faster-paced with a stronger story. What I want now's a miniseries focusing on the Howling Commandos (I think I said so somewhere else). I think that'd be fucking awesome. Dum Dum Dugan's the man.
Agent Carter is definitely getting a season 2, which is fine by me; I'm loving the shit out of it. I really do find it amazing how they were able to flesh out so many of the characters in just 2-3 episodes. That scene with Dooley was a lot more emotional than I anticipated. Here's the first promo poster for the second season: After watching it a couple more times, I hope it's better than the first. I thought it was dragged out, like the entire story could've been told in the first three episodes. I hope it's more concise this time around. Hayley Atwell's performance, though, was amazing. I'm glad her role in the MCU's expanded like it's done. I'm hoping for more Howling Commandos in the second season. Hayley says she hopes they explore Agent Carter's "British background," and if they do, I hope James Montgomery Falsworth (Captain Britain) is brought onto the show.
Personally, I loved the first season, though they could have taken advantage of the small episode count a bit more. Hearing that the show was renewed was a pleasant suprise. I look forward to season 2.
