    Ok this is serious:

It may sound weird but my mom told me last week that artists and musicians have numbers for colors which other people probably don't have. When I heard it I thought it was making quite some sense.
I started to think about it and realised I had numbers for colors aswell, and not just now, but I have them aslong as I know to names of colors. Now, I'm not a great artist but I have/had the skills for it. I was 'the best' at school but because I don't have enough patience I never draw/paint/etc anymore. Now..uhm I wonder, do more people on here number colors?

I'm really curious because I never knew there was a difference between people and numbering or not numbering colors. I think that there must be quite alot of people who number colors..

    uhm, as example:
    (for me it is:)

    white: 0
    black: 1
    grey: 2
I'm not sure about what color I had on 3
    yellow: 4
from light yellow to dark yellow: 41-49
    red: 5
from light red to dark red: 51-59
    lightblue: 6
    brightblue: 60
light blue to dark blue: 61-69
    darkest blue: 9
green: 7 (kinds of green 71-79)
brown: 8 (kinds of brown 81-89)
    silver: 10
    gold: 11
I'm not sure about 12, but I think something like dark grey
    orange: 13
    not sure about 14
    pink: 15
purple is somewhere between 16 and 19, I think it was 19

well, there are way more colors but it's too much to name.
and for me it's not really only the color but also the name what the color has that makes the number. Like the word brown: 8 and dark mahony brown: 88.

    :wth: I'm serious though.

I do the same thing. Also, songs will make me think of colors too. Like for example, Numb makes me think of the colors green and black.

I don't number colors, but everything is connected in my eyes. When I see a color, I instantly feel a certain mood and hear a certain song. When I hear a song, I instantly feel a certain mood and see a certain color. When I feel a certain mood, I instantly see a certain color etcetera.

And not just with colors, moods and songs, but with images, shapes (especially holy geometric shapes), words, everything.. It's very overwhelming sometimes.

i never number colours...but i remember that when i was young and i had to memorize numbers 1 to 10 i learnt it like this...
1-really cool guy, talks less, makes amazing sense when he does talk.wise kinda one.
    2- 4's mother
    3- 2's husband
    4- 5's girlfriend
    5-4's boyfreind
6-5's best friend, best pal, buddy etc.
7- female villain who'd do anything to get 5. also 8's only beloved daughter.
    8- 7's rich and wealthy father.loves 7 a lot.
    9- very humble scientist.
10- just a lame passerby all the time.

and i know my numbers pretty well now...lol

but other wise..BTH reminds me of the color orange... :chemist:

    I number colors.

For some reason, ever since I was like, four, I remember that I associated the color green with the number six for some reason. To this day, I still think of "green" when I think of the number "six" and vice versa.

It is really strange. It's probably personal perception of some sort. And yeah, I think those who have a passion of art of some sort seem to do it more than any other... As I remember I was the only one in my group of friends who have done it ever since a kid...

I think for other examples, I imagine the number four as a golden-ish yellow color.

    Interesting, but strange stuff. ^_^
