I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but i don't think it is as i'm posting about it but in my applications, exlporer.exe uses alot of memory. It stars of around 30,000 K but slowly increases the longer the computer is on. Somethimes to around 200,000 K. When i get to this i have to end it and start it up again. Which brings it back down, but it slowly rises again. Is there a reason for this and if so is there some way to fix it. Also is there somesort of software that lowers your memory usage. If there is i'd like to know about it. Thanks to all those who reply.
http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/s...stem/maxmem.htm It's normal for some programs to use 20,000+ K. Like right now, firefox.exe is using 307,368 K but it's not effecting my computer's performance much at all. ...9 tabs open, btw.
yer but i'm talking to the point where i'm not doing anything with my computer and it's telling me that it has to expand my virtual memory. Now that's wack.
physical memory = the sticks you put in your computer. I have 1GB of RAM (2x512MB) and I have no problems at all. =\ winkey+pausebreak if you're unsure how muchr RAM you have.
yer i have to 512 sticks. I have a program that checks your swap file usage. and mine is allways at least 85%. I think this is the problem as my memory is now stayting lower.
You have 1GB of RAM and you're getting virtual memory errors? How much space on your harddrive do you have left?
40 gig hard drive, 14.4 gig left and yet when i'm doing nothing i'm sometimes, not always, see a slowdown. It's insane.
