Hey, I respect you for not misquoting Mike and all but you do have to take into account, he does not know Japanese. He got his brother to write the banner for his blog "I do not speak Japanese, my brother translated this for me" and also consider the fact he had trouble pronouncing Hashimoto!

    :sweating:

"Not Alone" came from the Minutes to Midnight era, so it might not be as far fetched, but yeah it's probably not related at all. Oh wells. We'll find out soon enough

I thought it was pretty obvious they just named the song in order to go with what's happening in Japan. It'd be one hell of a coincidence if they just happened to have a song called "Issho Ni" laying around. But, it could be from M2M, or ATS, or maybe they made it last week. We don't know, and there's no way to know which one it is.

Well, it may be a new instrumental; something he just created for this cause, and not necessarily something the whole band worked on. I guess Mike could create 100 instrumentals in one day using Pro Tools if he would like to.

someday, i intend to find these "Secret Hardrives" and listen to every song...crap or godly...until I've heard every single demo, instrumental, or song.

"Not Alone" was adapted from a demo they had lying around from the "Midnight" sessions, and this new instrumental could reasonably be something they pulled up from the "A Thousand Suns"-era recordings, or it might've been made from scratch just for the cause. :"

I expect an instrumental made from scratch specifically for this cause :awesome:
That would mean more emotion than an ATS demo picked up and transitioned

I am not saying that it HAS TO BE that way, so don't quote me on that!

If it is made from scratch, I hope it doesn't sound rushed. Though, as long as it's like Lockjaw, we should be just fine :awesome:

Just for the record, earlier on in this thread...I saw a bit of derailment in regards to people posting off topic images, in a thread where it is completely unwelcome.

Please refrain from going off topic in important threads like this in the future. It's just a matter of being respectful. Thank you.

Not Alone was special because there was no way they could make an entirely new song in that short of time. But since this is just an instrumental, I wouldn't put it past Mike to write a new song. However, it is equally as likely that Mike has some amazing instrumental from probably MTM or ATS era. Both are quite welcome by me as long as it's not one of the few weird tracks from LPUX.

If it's a new instrumental, do you think it'll give us a clue on how the new album might sound like?

With New Divide, it wasnt the case. Same with Blackbirds.

I don't think you can judge a rushed instrumental on what the next album will sound like. Though, if it's something they already made while on the road this tour, then I guess it's not impossible.

frankly i disagree with your statement there. Blackbirds for one doesn't count because it was from MTM era. New Divide, however, I do see as being similarly instrumentally like ATS. It is a keyboard and drum driven song that utilizes heavy amounts of synths and even vocal changes. That bridge, if anything, sounds like it could easily fit in ATS.

Is Japan's Download to Donate going to be similar to the first or second D2D?
I kinda hope it's like the first.
