Best LP news ever! I said 'Yes!' out loud upon reading this...doesn't happen that often folks. It shows (at least to me) a real step up for the band. They can create EXACTLY what they want pretty much. A very mature decision, lets hope their lyrics are a little better. If Mike's lyrics are like Fort Minor's then we're set for a great Album.

thats a fair enough statement......like you said... meteora is listenable and decent, but after three years and the hype from ht and htep, its like "uhh...is that it you guys," so I can see why people would say it was a failure even if it was a halfway decent album. Thats why Im not trying to hype this new album....even though I hope dearly.

Finally some good news from LP. I'm not surprised Mike has taken over from Don and its probably a good thing. The rising tied was solid if nothing spectacular, but might at least give him some fresh ideas. I just hope there's nothing like breaking the habit in the new album and I've heard enough of Mike's rapping to last a lifetime. Is a little serious rock too much to ask for?

Probably, since they pride themselves in breaking barriers and being a hybrid.

Like Mike said in Get Me Gone, he's going to keep on rapping.

But they're also going to venture out, if the article from Billboard is any indication.

Not sure whether this is a good thing, or a bad thing, but I am sure that the album will definitely be listenable. I can't wait till the album comes out.

    [OT]

    OMG GRINGO = RACIAL SLUR.

Oh wait, that's his screen name.

Bad joke aside, I seriously thought that gringo was a racial slur. It means white person in spanish, but I've seen people get detentions and expelled for that kind of thing...
    [/OT]

But still good to know that LP listens to the fans complain about the Don. ^_^

    How about Deftones without creativity?

The creativity part might change but I have a gut feeling that they'll end up sounding like Taproot. Hopefully I'm wrong and they'll do what I said in the other thread, a combination of the best from Meteora (sampling) HT (riffing) and Fort Minor (lyrics).

I don't know, I heard Numb today and it did nothing for me. I hope the next Linkin Park record isn't whiny and actually is half mature.

About time. Exactly LP needs to start writing songs that move away from the whole pain and angst that they have been living through. Cause honestly they could be classified as an emo band. But yah they just really need to mature as a band and just start making great music cause we know that they are talented well at least Mike and Joe.

Emo stands for emotive hardcore. LP isn't anywhere near hard enough to qualify as emo. Emo is not about pain and angst and slitting your wrists.

Anywho...This news makes me so happy, even though I'll probably love anything LP does.

And that's where I make the obligatory comment about how you have no idea what "producing" means.
