Yes, I could not agree more. That is exactly what should happen. It sounds like Mike played around with his new OP-1, got creative, and out came this trailer music. He should incorporate this type of creativity into new LP songs.

I didn't watch the trailer till now actually. My bad .

But yeah, I wonder how much different LP would sound if only Mike did the music. Every instrumental I've heard from him (aside from Fort Minor) has been drastically more electronic-genre sounding than anything done by Linkin Park as a whole.

That's sweet! Mike could be the next Johnny Greenwood or Trent Reznor. Mike totally has the skills and talent to be up there with the best modern film composers.
Interiguing film. Brilliant music for what we heard in the trailer! Though who was the other name that came up along side Mike in the end credits?

http://www.joecomposer.com/ - joe trapanese, my guess is that he is responsible for orchestral parts.

The music would actually be good. It'd be an upgraded version of ATS.

To be honest, a lot of times when I see the making of DVDs and hear some true masterpieces being made that don't make their way onto the album I'm like 'LP Y U NO FINISH COOL SONG'. Case in point: The harmonica song and the snippet from the "I'm not on some What I've Done shit" scene, both tracks that were on MOATS but didn't make their way onto the album.

Also, Joe Hahn needs to get the Seed tracks out there. That song was kickass.

I feel like LP has been very interested in making a harmonica song since MTM since they've had demos on both albums with harmonicas in them. But I know exactly how you feel, there's so many cool sounds from the DVDs that I want to at least hear an instrumental. I still feel like LP held back in ATS because stuff like the What I've Done Shit Demo sounded too crazy. Only thing is I want crazy

Also, I wonder who did the drums in this song because it definitely wasn't Mike. Makes me wonder if this was done with the help of Rob....
Album 5 demo that just became a score?

If you listen closely I think you can hear harmonica at the end of the messenger, if you have the multi-track you can hear it even better in additional instruments. (You can delete this comment if I'm not suppose to talk about a multi-track) haha

It's the end part of the song.

That's not a harmonica...in the MOATS you see Mike barefooting a piano like instrument that makes that sound. It's not the harmonica.
I'm not sure about this but it was most likely a harpsichord

Oh, I thought it was a harmonica. It sounds like it! haha.

Also, I don't know if this is post worthy or old news but Hulu has Road to Revolution and Meeting of a thousand suns in full on their site.

Whenever I see people call LP Nu-Metal I seriously question their journalistic integrity and whether or not they're actually heard Linkin Park within the last 5-6 years. Linkin Park haven't been metal for a really long time. It's amusing.
