I mean I don't mean to give ammo to the ATS Haters, but LP are alternative rock now. They haven't been metal since 2003-2004 .

I don't understand the ignorance of others who continue with the label. I mean, Nu-Metal by itself has been dead since 2002 so I don't understand why they'd still use the term so many years later. But I saw this review on Amazon and it just does an excellent job at explaining LP's transition:

The film won the Midnight Madness Award at this year's Toronto International Film Festival. It's been getting rave reviews all across the board as well.

Can't wait to watch this! Srsly!

They were never metal, and anyone who thinks they were and is annoyed that they now aren't should pipe down and listen to some Converge or Trash Talk or something if they honestly want heavy.

Metal doesn't imply heavy metal, though my opinion of people flaming people over whether or not Nu Metal is part of Metal is that they're all silly and they should just enjoy the music.

I agree. Nu-metal is a type of metal whether purists like it or not. What I'm meaning to say is that to me they've never really primarily been a metal band of any sort; at the most I'd say there's a metal influence in some of the guitar parts and Chester's vocals but that's it for the most part. The heavier/harder elements of their music are usually there for decoration as much as anything and they don't really seem to put much stock in being heavy.

That and with the way some people talk you would think they actually were some really extreme, inaccessible band earlier in their career when they weren't.
