Ah yes, the big question. The one nobody wants to ask, Who is the better emcee? Mike Shinoda or Eminem(Aka Marshall Mathers). This is a poll to determine the overall UNBIASED opinion of the LPA community. Although this is a poll of opinion, there's a few qualifications you have to pass to participate in this, if u fail one..don't bother voting. 1. This thread is intended to be unbiased. Meaning, evaluate both emcees in this poll before you automatically pick Mike. If after thinking over thier skills, you still believe Mike is more of an emcee, vote for him. However do not even bother voting if your going to be biased as we don't need that in this thread. 2. If you hate Eminem just because you think he's a "Homophobic B*stard" then don't bother. This is intended to be a vote based on thier skills not, your personal opinion of them. 3. Also carrying along the lines of personal opinion, if you vote for any of the two candidates because they are "Sooo Hot." I will personally hunt you down and shoot you in the head 14 times. , basically if your going to be a teenie, don't vote as you will also be warned for being a teenie. 4. Be truthful and respectable, give reasons why you prefer one emcee's skills over the other. With all those in mind, lets start the voting!!
Eminem has alot of respect from me, because he is the only rapper that is mainstream and doesnt sing about hos and beer and pimpin. He raps about real life problems, and his lyrics, however violent, have strong meaning. Mike also doesnt rap about all that stuff. Through, I give it to Eminem, because Mike just isnt the rapper Eminem is. By that I mean, Mike has more of an all around type deal. Mike sings as well. There isnt really a whole lot of songs out there to truly judge Mike on. They both have good lyrics, but Eminem is the greatest lyricist of our time (besides Linkin Park), so I give it to him.
I chose Eminem. Eventhough his rhymes promote violence and other hateful things, I truely believe he is the master of the rap game and is the better emcee. He has a way with words and the way he can come up with his material and make it into a killer song is incredible to me. On a side note: I would love to see a rap battle between Mike and Eminem. That would be priceless.
I choose Eminem because based lyric wise, Eminem is a man who can create a more meaningful rhyme on the spot. Mike Shinoda's rhymes are usually compares or really raps differently from Eminem's style. Mike raps about emotion, or a feeling--something more inside of yourself where Eminem can produce more things you'd want to say but can't. I think I have to choose Eminem over Mike because Eminem's been around longer, and he's put more out there, cursing up a storm, and just plainly destroying his targets with his raps. As I wouldn't label them in real life, I will now to try and perhaps make what I'm saying a little more clear. While Mike Shinoda raps about life emotional wise and as he usually gets his message through knowing your relation, his is more based on respect of others feelings (bringing him a "safe rap" image). But Eminem brings a different side of respect from me. He's the type of man to tell you the blunt truth or something you just can't say in everyday life, and he's able to say it and not be affected by the reactions. I just feel that Eminem puts himself out there more than Mike does through rapping because while Mike Shinoda's raps are broken down to the core and re-written, Eminems are raw and gutless which makes him have an advantage rap-wise in my opinion. I hope I didn't confuse anyone :chemist:.
I know, that would be so cool. I'd tape it and play it over and over and over . . . . . . ok, sorry I'm babbling.
Hmm, see I'm not going to even vote because I respect both of them for different reasons. I respect eminem for his lyrics and kill you first, ask questions later persona. He says some things that make you rewind to make sure you just heard what you thought you heard, and thats takes a lot of courage to say sh*t like that. On the other hand, I respect mike because of his different voice. He doesn't sound like every other white rapper out there and can go from really 'sharp' to very soft, without sounding awkward. I also respect the fact he expresses himself the way he does without ever uttering a simple cuss. That's very hard to do, especially if your really angry, because all you wanna do is go "F*CK" but he knows ways around that, which makes me tip my hat off to him. So I cant decide. Therefore I won't vote lol.
:'( i was forced to vote for Eminem [Thanks 2 u Derek  , cuz u summoned my unbiased conscious] and it's hard to admit but Eminem is better. Just listen to "The Real Slim Shady" this guys doesn't f*cking stop rhyming at lest for a sec. in the verses... but still I like Mike more as a person
To be quite honest, I can't really decide. Eminem is a great lyricist, the way he puts things together is amazing. But Mike, his lyrics mean a lot more. He puts a lot more emotion into each and every song. So they're both kind of even.
I picked Mike Shinoda. I don't know but for no reason I don't like Eminem. I just don't know why. Mike talks about life (I know thta Eminem do this too but egh..) and he puts some emotion and that makes him the best rapper (in my opinion).
Eminem & Mike Shinoda are completely different types of rappers. On one hand, we have Eminem who raps aggresively about ANYTHING. On the other hand, we have Mike Shinoda who's words are very emotional, inspirational, practical, and profound. There's no way in hell you can throw both these emcees in a battle because Eminem would win, because that's his style. Mike doesn't do freestyles as we all should know by now. I'm not going to vote...it's like saying, which is better to put on your sandwhich first...peanut butter, or jelly? Okay bad analogy, but I hope you get what I mean. Once again, both of these emcees are amazing talents.
I always put peanut butter on first! Because if you do jelly first, while you're putting on the peanut butter the jelly could fall off the peice of bread. But doing peanut butter first eliminates that. Because the peanut butter won't fall off the bread while your putting the jelly on.

I told you not to do it while standing on your head!!!!
How in the hell would it fall off??! Bryan! I told you not to do it while standing on your head!!!! [/b][/quote] I swear I didn't do it on my head this time!! The jelly "runs" off the side of the bread and can fall off onto the plate. Then when you pick it up you get 2x as stickier. Always remember kids: Peanut Butter first!
Jelly first...what's wrong with you? If you do it peanut butter first, the peanut butter will get inside the jelly...that is, if you use the same knife.
