So, Derek, did you see that video package that MTV played that showed the kids in Africa?

Yeah, tell people to boycott Live 8.

Yeah, i think its pretty stupid to write a letter to MTV just because you havent seen your favourite band.

Not that they didn't play favorite bands, but that their coverage was so chopped up with interviews and things NOT having to do with the concert like commercials (and lots of them).

Yeah, because the artists telling us why they're there has nothing to do with the concert, right? Okay.

everyone knows theyre not raising money for eliminating poverty of any sort, right? theyre just raising "awareness". so basically the starving people arent getting anything except people knowing they are starving. but then again we already knew that.

I was kind of pissed they cut off Audioslave after Like a Stone but I saw all the other bands i wanted too.

The concert wasn't just as opportunity to see your favourite band play a few songs. I don't know how bad MTV was but Fox 8 covered it pretty well since they were stealing the live-feed from about 10 different channels.

The BBC had the best TV coverage. You could switch between venues. They had interviews AFTER not half way through artists sets.

Overall they get a 10/10 for it.

MTV gets a 10/10 just because they stuck around for Pink Floyd's set and stayed for 3 songs.

MTV went to the VJs near the end of Comfortably Numb, but they played for 20 minutes.
