For my English class, my teacher gives us "starts," where we just write on a topic for 15 minutes. This one was based on "a peaceful moment for you," and then we had to choose our favorite writing piece and "publish" it in our class. It's kinda short, but I chose this one because it meant a lot to me. Feedback would be cool. ------------------ I lie peacefully, innocently next to him His arm is securely around me, As if to hold me and never, never let me go The peace I feel in my heart almost brings tears to my eyes. I look up at him through my lashes, And find him studying my face with a look of adoration in his eyes. He catches my eyes peeking and holds them with his. I can’t look away. He smiles, the crooked, half smile that I love so much. I smile back, and reach up to put my fingertips on his perfect cheekbone. He gently puts his hand over mine, and secures my hand to his face. Almost as if to say, “Never let me go.”
