the part with Mike rapping reminds me bleed it out. Just a little slower rhythm. what do you think?
same here really. which has surprised me, seen as though I've love(d) everything LP has released!
Mike's rapping in the song is more like Blackbirds.
And it seems like in Blackbirds. Burn It Down has only one rap verse (when you don't count the intro to Blackbirds)
On Monday it'll all become clear!
dat bass drum when mike raps
Sounds great! Can't wait for the Monday!
It sounds right to me to...
Hearing Mikes rapping brings a smile to my face. I was hesistant hearing the chorus but now I really can't wait for Monday....Ooh Monday will be busy at my house. My son goes back to school (as I'm typing this they are giving New Divide instrumental on the weather channel) plus I have to be at work early. My mind will be focused on Burn It Down on 4/16/12!!! Everyone trying to cash on LP this week
It's getting better and better.
I like the instrumental during Mike's rap. Looking forward to hearing the full song on Monday!
Wow, sounds great. I love those electronic elements, but i hope also for some guitar-songs on the album, i hope it's a good mix.
This Monday will be a grand day!
Am I the only one who thinks it's ironic that Mike rapped "I will not dance even if the beat's funky" on the last album, and this song has a funky electronic-like dance beat? Amusing .
Anyways, song is growing on me more with every listen of the snippets. I really wasn't sure at first, but it's getting better as I listen to more of it. I'm kind of surprised at the creative turn this band has taken over 5 albums. If you think about it, they've re-invented themselves three times now. Things like this are why I can't get enough of this band.
This. I agree with everything here, Derek. Well put.
I think its the new LPTV for the new album era...
I just fall in love with Linkin Park everytime a new record comes out. I absolutely love their music, whatever vibe they put in it and I feel like I owe them so much, I mean, if it wasn't for them, I really doubt I could be here talking to you, unless something like "linkin park is music awesome, I'm like they a lot " can be considered talking. I learned english with these guys for real, they put the foundation, and I continued the practice.
Love their evolution, and even as simple as the chorus or beat can be, sometimes you have to remember "less is more", even when they can do some pretty elaborated stuff, the simple can be as difficult to make, and they nail it brilliantly.
I'm eager for Monday, and especially, album release day.
Honestly, I like how there's a positive sound to the synths, yet the drums and lyrics are dark and push against the happy feeling of the lead synths. It creates this really nice tension in the song, and it's interesting how the song has this "hardness" to it, without shredding guitars. It chugs like a steam engine and it should be great to hear live.
Clip sounds so good... I can't wait for Monday..
I'm excited as hell for this album! Though it's just gonna be another few years of people bitching that the album sucks. I used to get mad when seeing those comments, but now I just don't give a shit and even laugh at those people lol.
I'm so lucky to love all kinds of music. This is going to piss off more 'fans' than ATS.
