New Slipknot track

"All Hope Is Gone" isn't a single, but it's a teaser for the new album, just like "Pulse of the Maggots" was for the last album, and "Heretic Anthem" was before it. It's like when a rapper releases a "street single" for an upcoming album. Some radio stations might play, some might not. It's just a tool to create some buzz and hype.

 

Psychosocial reminds me of a harder Stone Sour to be honest. Still diggin' it though. My main interest so far is to find out how the 'other half of Circle' may sound like.

Thoughts:

Corey - Much more refined, return of the original mask it seems. I like it.
Joey - Seems crowded, but awesomely controversial?
Mick - An edgier upgrade of his previous mask it seems.
Clown - I hate it. It's like a fetish mask or something..just unappealing imo.
'133' - Practically the same design.
James (Jim) - Almost the same mask as his previous, with more definition on the facial structure, pretty cool.
Chris - To be honest, I liked his previous mask a lot more. Blends in with the rest of the group I guess.
Paul - Minor changes, nothing significant.
Sid - No idea what the hell that's supposed to represent.

Wow to me its kinda a "little" disappointed that they didn't change their mask A LOT but still kinda happy that they didn't...seems weird, but i think that's what they were going for...
and I actually like Clowns Mask, its not cus of the fetish thing...lol
but that he took it much darker theme to it...
and well sids... that M*thaF*cker just goes crazy with his masks...

 

Joey looks like he belongs in Cradle Of Filth instead of Slipknot now lol. And I swear Craig has kept the same mask since he joined the band but made the spikes bigger every album lol.

 

Perhaps it's just me, but I'm not really liking "Psychosocial" at the moment.

 

It grew on me a little, but that "psychosocial" chant is annoying...

Both the tracks are streaming on Mick Thomson's myspace, which I can't find the link for right now...

 

Yeah the chantting on both songs kinda make go ehhh
but im gettin used to them both
