Meh. The games are boring, and I'm a hardcore gamer saying this. I guess if you're a really patient person, these are great games.
It's an amazing game, too. I wasn't a fan of the first or the second, but my friend was, when I went to his house to play the third I was enthralled. Don't know why this one appeals to me so much, but I sure as Hell enjoyed it.
I agree with you. SC is the type of game that only patient people should play and I lost my patience about 3 years ago, so it's just not my type of game. Of course, aside from my bias impatience, the series is quite intriguing.
It's a typical Tom Clancy storyline, but gameplay is definitely the highlight of this series. Awesome physics, graphics, dialogue, cinematics are more or less.
I've been a pretty big fan of the Splinter Cell series. All the games have been an improvement from its predecessor, and Chaos Theory is no exception. It's a great game, TeMpEsT summed it.
I'm big on game visuals (that's not to say I value them over gameplay) and the effects in the SC games are amazing. Also, the stealth element owns MGS.
I wish Splinter Cell wasn't so linear though, the storyline with MGS is more consequencial on how the player acts in the game, whereas if you fuck up in Splinter Cell it doesn't continue with the plot, merely ends it. I have yet to play Snake Eater, but I'm going to anticipate it's even greater than Splinter Cell. Hideo Kojima is behind the story 100%, unlike Clancy's miniscule contribution to his games.
Yeah, i am a much bigger fan of the MGS series & i agree with you on the linear gameplay front. Splinter Cell just didn't have that same impact that MGS had when that was first released.
Yah splinter cell is a wicked gaem, but i mean one you played one of the first ones you've played em all. I just dont think its worth the 70 bucks when it first comes out i might wait until its a platinum hit first.
I like the splinter cell games. but then i am a pacient person. i like the use of sneaking around and not going on a wild killing rampage. but one thing must be said (which i ill probly be flamed for) THE HALF LIFE SERIES RULES THIS EARTH
My PSM (Unofficial Playstation Magazine) was just delivered, and you can edit that and put in "PSM - 9.5/10" ---- I haven't actually played the single-player of the game yet, but my brother rented it, and I played the co-op on there with him. Pretty cool. I really liked the first one, and for some reason I never even played the second for more than 10 minutes. Chaos Theory seems really good, though.
Why would you get flamed for saying that? It's pretty much in the Ten Commandments that the Half-Life series must rule...
Why would you get flamed for saying that? It's pretty much in the Ten Commandments that the Half-Life series must rule... [/b][/quote] LOl definently. i think ive spent too much time in HALO 2 forums saying how much it was overhyped and how it is no where near as good as Half life 2.
I'm not surprised. I loved Pandora Tomorrow, and I just rented Chaos Theory and I'm about to play it...It's loading.
