Croatia genuinely deserved at least the draw. I guess I should've known ref would pull one of his. Olic was excellent and the keeper Pletikosa was great. If they had played Mandzukic (suspended) they would've probably done more. Jelavic is too useless. Midfield was ok and it was more than enough to hold a draw. The bullshit penalty called ruined it. It's hard as a player to get back up when you feel it was wrong. Mentality is important. I hope they can improve their next game.
Im not really into soccer, do they just do one game a day or was there just one game today because it's opening game? Or did you guys just only talk about one game? Sorry for being Ignorant by the way.
Dogshit call on that spot kick for Brazil. Hate how these players can get away with flops like that. Referees should be on a one-strike-you're-out policy for bad, game-altering calls. Blake, it was one game today because Brazil had their opener. Tomorrow there'll be three games (the remaining two teams in Group A + two Group B games) and then a mix of 3-4 games per day for the next 13 days.
Just looked at the penalty. Wow, that was a horrible call. I can't stand flopping. And was the yellow card even necessary? Also, I was really hoping for Croatia to win just because I wanted there to be an upset.
EAT SHIT ESPAÑA. Absolutely wonderful revenge from the Netherlands, despite it's the opening game for their group. Never expected NED to play this beautifully with the squad they had, I thought it was weaker than the one that went to South Africa. Really pleasant surprise. Arjen Robben is a fucking machine d00d. --- Didn't watch the Mexico game, listened to it through radio cause I was on the road but it was rather boring. Looking forward to watching Chile v. Australia later as well.
Even for someone who usually despises football, this was pretty exciting to watch! Of course it helps that it was my own country squashing Spain I might even watch the next match now.
Today was a great day of football. Chile vs Australia was quite exciting too..! Beausejour at the end with the goal that killed the game but I thought AUS could've done a bit more. I agree with the tweets saying this WC is already better than the last. Despite controversy and fuckups, it's been great football. Also, there was a nice display of goal-line tech at the Chile game where the aussie player cleared off the line. Better late than ever for tech in football. Something still needs to be done about penalty and offside calls though.

Solid on all their lines, gave the ball to Greece on the 2nd half but the Greeks were totally ineffective up front, except for a couple of dangerous chances, with one of them hitting the crossbar. James, Cuadrado, Yepes and Armero standouts, and a couple of great saves from David Ospina. Impressive turnout, more than 40,000 colombians made the travel to the neighbour country to cheer for their Selección. EDIT 1: UPSET! Costa Rica has stunned Uruguay on their World Cup debut! Charruas had a strong start, keeping possession of the ball and making threatening chances with their powerful strikeforce Cavani and 'Cebolla' Rodríguez. While Uruguay took the lead via a Cavani penalty, celestes could not cope with Costa Rica's aerial play, which doomed them to have their winning position turned upside down. Joel Campbell seized his stature as CRC's most influyent player on the pitch and shortly after Duarte took the lead for the Ticos via a headed free kick. Uruguay showed the same weaknesses they display during qualifying and could not shake off their anxiety. Now Uruguay must watch closely the England v. Italy because they have to play both of them next in order to qualify.
