Anyone know what LPs first website was? Atleast the URL(even if it's not there)?
It was taken offline though. If you go into www.archive.org you can still view some of the site.

Really? Wow cool. I'm gonna see if I can be smart enough to figure it out to check it out.
EDIT: Just checked that out. That's some cool stuff right there.
Yeah whoever made the layout for it was amazing.
I doubt hybridtheory.com was their old site, since it was proven that they thought of the name Linkin Park so they could get the domain name.
Well they had to change there name. So maybe they misspelled "Linkin" to get a new site.
LinkinPark.com doesn't go that far back though....
EDIT: here's a link to the oldest version of the website.
It doesn't look too official. Looks like a fan-site to me.
Hybridtheory.com was their domain before LinkinPark.com. They had to change their name due to another band with an-almost similar name. Originally they were going to be called Lincoln Park (if I remember correctly) but in order to get a domain name since I guess LincolnPark.com was taken, they changed their name to Linkin Park.
I don't know, up until August 2000 according to archives.org says the band has changed it's name, at the same time, their debut album came out in 2001 so it's still likely. It's possible that they bought the domain in hopes to grab the name, then having to change it afterwards.
Also, if I remember correctly, before Hybridtheory.com went offline, I remember doing a WHOis check on the website (this is usually used to catch people trying to rip you off, etc.) and it was registered in Brad Delson's name. I could be mistaken, but I remember a band member's name was registered to Hybridtheory.com. Also, if you WHOis check the Hybridtheory.com domain now, it's been "REGISTRAR-LOCK" under the domain status, which I assume means that the domain's been locked and can't be re-opened. It's now registered under an administration of some sort, so I think that's probably the "lock." Hybridtheory.com's domain hasn't been deleted as it's unavailable according to WHOis for purchase.
I don't know, though, this is all speculation. I definitely know I remember Hybridtheory.com being registered under a band member because I think I remember discussing it with Will one time, but whatever. It was still Linkin Park-related, so if it was official or not, it still were a website dedicated to the-now Linkin Park.
It's not like they had the money to hire someone to design a linkinpark.com-ish layout.
Yeah, not to mention, it wasn't until recently that websites got realllly flashy like the current LinkinPark.com...
LinkinPark.com seems more like a company than a band website anymore. Not that I'm complaining.
I just looked at some of the pages of Hybrid Theory.com. Looks cool.
If by debut album, you're referring to Hybrid Theory, I thought it came out in late 2000?
Yeah Hybrid Theory came out October 24th, 2000
The day after my birthday.
A lot of people thought it came out in 2001 because it was the best seelling album that year.
Yeah, and because their singles just became more noticed that year, as well.
Yeah, Crawling and In The End were really played out on the radio that year, especially In The End. They played it every 2 minutes
I totally remember that.
Separate names with a comma.
