So, now that we all have listened to the album for like a month now, what are your thoughts about "The Hunting Party"? Still loving it? Get bored too fast? .. Post your comments below !
It's still a good album. It sucks I don't have a copy yet, though. It just came out here last Tuesday.
I don't have mine either. I pre ordered the deluxe package on lp.com on May 9th, shipped on June 1th and it's still not here. Ridiculous.
Maybe you can ask Lorenzo about that. He's part of LP's team he'll be glad to help you out. https://twitter.com/lorenzoerr
I learned the whole album on guitar so I have heard it enough times that I can say that I enjoy it. I like it more than LT, M, HT and probably even MTM(half the songs are kind of weak on that album) but yeah it is hard to rank it. It's not that boring yet - compared to LT that got boring after two weeks for me which is the reason I almost never listen to anything on that album- expect remixes(Reliving things is awesome) It has songs I don't really enjoy that much - Like UIG and W - but some of the songs are really good.
Before I was like: A Thousand Suns > The Hunting Party = Minutes to Midnight > LIVING THINGS > Hybrid Theory > Meteora, and now I'm more like: A Thousand Suns > Minutes to Midnight > The Hunting Party = LIVING THINGS > Hybrid Theory > Meteora.
Still brilliant. Not a masterpiece by any means (no LP album is really) but a fantastic album. Until it's gone is the only weak tracks IMO.
I hardly listen to it anymore. It's not a bad album, it's just kind of boring. There's nothing they're doing that they haven't already done before, it doesn't offer up anything new really. And when they do attempt to do something new, it's really not that good (A Line in the Sand).
Still really like it, maybe even a little more than I did before. That said, give it six more months, and I'd bet money around here it'll be considered LT-tier, and people will be clamoring for them to avoid the style in any future songs.
Not close enough to be good as their first two albums, but THP is really mind blowing and my third favorite Linkin Park record. It's also their most nostalgia album. Every time hear I listen to it, it's like a combination of their first three albums with touches of thrash metal (mostly the solos) and certain forms of hard rock, and hardcore/heavy oriented punk music. I'm very happy to see them continue to expand while staying true to themselves musically and I think that's what LP is really good at when they change their musical styles ever album or two.
I'm largely happy with "The Hunting Party", and I expect to still like it in six months' time, but, nonetheless, I'd personally prefer that the next album not resemble it too much.
I only listen to Drawbar, FM and ALITS regularly anymore. The album isn't really my type of music but I do play it at the gym.
I still think it's incredible. I still find it hard to believe that songs like Keys To The Kingdom and A Line In The Sand are products of Linkin Park. Rebellion alone filled my desires for new System Of A Down music.
Love the record still. Not a masterpiece, but definitely up my alley personally. It's probably my favorite LP record. It's just never boring imo haha.
