Here's a thread where you can brag about your current PC build or future plans for one. :)

I will be building a PC meant for gaming with these specs:
    Intel Core i5 4670K Haswell 3.4GHz Quad-Core CPU
    MSI Z87-G43 LGA 1150 Motherboard
    G.Skill Ripjaws X 16GB (2x8GB)
MSI GeForce GTX 660 2GB (I'm thinking about getting the new GTX 770)
    Western Digital 1TB HDD
    CORSAIR TX 750W PSU
    Windows 8 OS

Are you sure 16GB is enough?

I would wait a little bit longer until the new line of processors come out. Prices should drop quite a bit. An SSD would speed things up a lot, too. And 16GB of RAM is overkill probably unless you're into graphic design stuff or video editing.

16 GB isn't overkill for gaming. Besides, RAM is so cheap now that there's no reason not to buy more.

The new line of processors are out. He's buying a 4th Gen Haswell processor.

Nice. I haven't been paying attention the last few weeks.

Yeah, I'd just go ahead and get 16 GB. You can score some pretty good deals on RAM right now. I managed to get an 8 GB stick for free in a combo.

And I'll second the SSD suggestion. I read a lot about people storing their OSs on SSDs to speed up boot times, and I'm glad I listened. I went with a 120 GB SSD for the OS and a 3 TB HDD for general file storage. I'm digging it.

I'm far from a PC geek or even well-versed in all the specs and all, but having upgraded to SSD just recently in December, I, too, can vouch for how much better it is. Faster, smoother, cleaner.
