Hey, has anyone noticed that the piano part playing in the background of HV is similar to the piano in My December? It's the same, only played in a higher key. And My December goes higher-higher, lower-lower, higher-higher, lower-lower... High Voltage stays the same throughout... if you know what I mean. lol. Listen to them both... tell me what you think...
i was thinking of the high voltage remix originally, but now i see where you're drawing the similarity from. he's talking about the original high voltage off the ep.
you're right! i slowed my december and high voltage down to get the notes, and it turned out that both of them have the same notes. my december goes DFEF CFEF, and is really slow. High voltage uses DFEF over and over in the intro of the song and it is played really fast. it's the HP EP version btw. edit: sometimes, it's hard to make out because there's someone, possibly mike, going uh-uh-uh-uh over the top and a guitar part over that as well.
^ actually, they aren't the same. my december goes "DFEF DFEF CFEF CFEF" while high voltage off the ep goes "ACBC ACBC" and it sounds more like a synth-ish piano than an actual one
I still think they sound similar. It's just My December fluctuates higher and lower... that's the only difference I hear.
the only thing the same is the way the notes are played. other than that, they're in different keys and different octaves (which sound similar, but are not the same).
Hold on...there are many versions of High Voltage. * Hybrid Theory EP Version * The one cut for Hybrid Theory * The live one on Underground 2.0 * H! Vltg3 * and the "H! Vltg3" remix, that was pimped the LPA
I totaly can hear it on the EP version! On a related topic, does anyone else think the piano in 'Frgt,10' sound a little similar to Breaking the Habit? In BtH it loopes over and over, while in Frgt,10It's slightly more complicated. Check out the Live version ft. Chali 2na, mike plays the piano at the end of the song.
actually, "breaking the habit" has more complex piano parts. ha. and that "piano" in "high voltage" sounds like a synth or guitar or something ... it sure as hell isn't piano. i'd like to know where that singing sample during the chorus comes from, though ...
