Hands Held High is the main exception to me not liking their political lyrics. And even then I think that's more making observations about people's reactions to war, and not that much of a political statement as such. TLTGYA is kind of borderline, but I give it a pass for the turn of phrase in the chorus. Either way, it's not that vague. Then there's NMS and Wretches & Kings where it is basically them applying vague Hybrid Theory/Meteora style "you/me" lyric writing to politics. I'm not really a fan of those songs, or not the lyrics anyway. I remember reading an interview where Chester said he was a Republican, and it seems safe to say Mike's views are in the other direction, and there are four other people in the band so yeah. Whether or not they want to get into specific issues with their songwriting, they'd probably be walking on eggshells around each other never mind their fans.
