I've been looking for Adobe InDesign CS3 on the internet, now I know we aren't allowed to talk about downloading anything so that's not what this thread is for. Portable Indesign is just an example for portable software in general.

A lot of the links I've found said it was a Portable version of InDesign. Now I've gathered that this just means it's a compressed version that you can carry around on a memorystick, that you can use on computers that don't have that software on them.

I don't quite fully understand how it works, though. Any thoughts?

I can't tell you anything about the details but all I know is that it's probably just an .exe file that doesn't have to be installed. That's how I use my uTorrent.

It's software that doesn't need to be installed and runs off memory sticks and whatnot, just like you said.
