Mike has stated in an interview before that Jay-Z will not be rhyming on the album. He's strictly a producer.

The songs I've heard from Jonah are awesome.

    Of course he is.

Which is why he is producing.

Because producing music is, like, making music.

I have a feeling that Jay will drop some lines in this album. Kinda like what Dr. Dre did in Game's Documentary.

His not really producing TRT, Mike is producing all the music. Jay is just looking over the whole project just giving mike ideas here and there not actually 'making' the music.

I can picture jay-z just sitting in the exec's chair just snoozing away while mike's like "hey jay watcha think of that, its hot right??"...and jays like..."err what...umm yeh dogg, you just keep at it now you heard'

Wrong. Jay-Z is the executive producer of the album. It says this RIGHT in the MTV article.

Too bad Mike rides Jay Z's dick more than the Game does Dre.

geez wheres your sense of humour?? ;)

Mike has said he produced all the songs for the album jay-z was just there to help, and to have his name printed somewhere on the album. I bet jay-z is exec producer just for the sake of having an exec producer. I wouldnt be surprised if he was hardly in the studio with mike.....come on, this is the def jam president we talking about. Like he hasnt got better things to do lol

I really dont see the point of an Executive Producer here when mike has said so many times that he will produce all the music. The only reason i see is for marketing purposes. Who wouldnt want the Def jam president be the exec producer of a much anticipated release??? it just adds to the anticipation.

Thats my rant for the day.

    ^_^

Being a producer doesn't necessarily mean creating the music, RX8LP. Look at Don Gilmore, he didn't create any sounds for Meteora, yet he was still the producer.

Jay-Z is probably there (and I say that he is there, because after all, why wouldn't the Def Jam president delegate authority to lesser ranks) to approve the music, say which ones are album worthy, help get others to come by to be special guests in a song, approve a tracklisting, etc.

So don't say it's just for publicity. There's probably so much more.

Jay-Z is basically approving he music. Saying what's hot and what's not. He's overseeing the project, saying what goes best with what and where it should be. As has been said before, Mike has made every instrumental sound on the album.

No, that's a sample. Same with the Cassidy song. Fools need to hop off. The songs they sampled came out 2 YEARS AGO.

Bobo could possibly Eric Bobo. I am a friend of Riff Raff (who we know from Reanimation), who is a friend of Mike Shinoda and of Eric Bobo (from Cypress Hill). See the connection? Bobo may know Shinoda, and had contributed.
