We post pictures of ourselves all over this place, why not show some love for our furry family members (and I don't mean your weird Uncle Tido who dresses up like a wombat and goes to conventions with his special friend "Eddie the Teddy"). Here, I'll get the ball rolling: This is my male tabby, Napoleon. He's about 13 now and he was a stray we got from a shelter. This is Pickles, my female tuxedo. She's about 10 now. She was a rescue we got from Petsmart. This is Winnie. She's a female Maltese/Shih-Tzu mix we got from my Aunt who is a breeder. She's 6. DOB 5/12/05 This is my female African Dwarf Water Frog, Stella. I got her from a shop in South Carolina. She's 3 now. I don't have any pics of my male Pied Cockatiel, Butterfinger. But's he's about 8 or 9 now. He's a pet shop baby. And my newest addition is this little gal. This is Vixen. She's a female pure-bred papillon. DOB 2/6/07 so she'll be 5 this February. She was a rescue I found on the streets near my college. She has a very long backstory that I'd be happy to tell if anyone wants to hear it. SO POST YOUR PETS. AND KEEP POSTING. DID FIDO DO SOMETHING FUNNY? TAKE A PIC AND POST IT HERE! DID YOUR MOM PUT A BOW ON MR. MITTENS? WE WANT TO SEE IT! DID YOUR IGUANA... WAIT YOU HAVE AN IGUANA?! SCREW IT JUST POST ITS PICTURE BECAUSE THAT'S AWESOME. NOW. GO FORTH MY CHILDREN.
Vixen was found running around the Rutgers Cook/Douglas campus with two other dogs by a wonderful girl named Connie who took all the pups in and cared for them. Vixen was being harassed by the other two (male) dogs and so the lovely Tasha took Vixie in to separate her. Unfortunately, Tasha's landlord would not accommodate dogs and so we took her in. It was originally a temporary decision but Vixie quickly stole our hearts and so earned herself a place in our home. Upon taking her to the vet, Vixie's backstory was slowly pieced together. Vixen has a microchip in her neck, for identification purposes. It was implanted when she was a puppy at Shake-A-Paw. The chip was never registered to an owner (until now ;]) because she was originally purchased by a dog broker who then sold her off to someone else. That someone else was an illegal dog breeder living in New Brunswick. A month before Vixen was found, this "breeder" was caught and in order to dispose of evidence, set all of his dogs loose on the streets. Vixen had spent most of her life in a tiny cage rarely receiving human affection and didn't even have a name! The breeder NUMBERED his dogs. She also was never trained outside of housebreaking. Vixen was pregnant when she was set loose and most likely either miscarried during her month on the street or delivered and lost the litter. Due to a lack of nutrition during her pregnancy she was (and still is) extremely calcium deficient and needs supplements in her food so that she doesn't get muscle cramps and joint pain because of it. The trauma of loosing her litter also has caused mild depression which leads her to sleep often and sometimes not eat for a day or two. She is greatly loved in her new forever home and we are making huge efforts and vast improvement in both her education and her attitude on life. She is an absolute love. ♥ This is her on her first New Year's Eve with us. We promised her at midnight that it'll only get better from here.
I decided I'll do it now since I'm awake... This is Harley. He is a 7 year old Min Pin. No real sob story with him. Got him from a pet shop. He's a love dog and only really listens to me. Harley likes to play with kids, but he hates other stranger dogs. He has a "Top Dog" Napoleon complex in that tiny sausage-like body. Harley is very protecting when it comes to little ones. Harley will sleep anywhere. Here he is half under my bed. When he isn't playing, anywhere he can put his head is comfy. This is my Calico cat Gypsy. Gypsy was rescued from an alcoholic woman and her 2 abusive boys. She is most likely always hiding. She hates loud noises, the vacuum cleaner (she was tortured with it a lot as a kitten) and she isn't very fond of kids or company. She won't bite unless provoked. Here she is hiding under my bed. This is my Grey Tabby Storm. Storm was a rescue cat from Hurricane Katrina. Her and her mom were brought up here after they were displaced when their home was destroyed. The owners, who owned a small pet shop, couldn't afford to care for them after the storm, so they gave them to a shelter. She's a loner but won't hesitate to bother you for your food. Here is my fish tank. There are about 30 fish in the tank and they all seem to get along well. The largest fish is an 8" Plecostemus, but he always hides toward the back. The other 2 large fish are an Angel and a red tailed shark! The tank is 55 Gallons and is in constant motion with the fish moving.
Im glad someone started this thread, Great Thread. April - Orange Winged Amazon. Buddies for life he only comes by me he talks a lot like telling random people that I'm Lazy Bobby - Albino Oscar A Real Badass I must add. Iggy - Baby Iguana this is an old pic gonna take some new ones. He got way bigger since I got him and a lot tamer. Anyways i got a couple more pics to look for like my three dogs and other parrot.
I had like 10 different Iguanas in my day. Some ran away, the others would not get tame so i let them go. Iggy likes me though no need for a locked cage anymore.
