Maynard James Keenan's other other band, Puscifer, have a new album coming out called "Money Shot". Release date October 30th. First song, "Grand Canyon":
The one thing I don't like is it feels like they really tried to pack lyrics into tight spaces. In other words, the singing doesn't always match the flow of the song. But I still love the back half almost has a hesitation marks feel to it. I dig it.
While I enjoy the song and the band, I can't help but wonder what the actual album will sound like. Maybe its just me but it seems like he always picks a first single that is a terrible indicator of the album. Queen B from first album and Man Overboard from the second. Both good songs, both kind of the black sheep off their respective albums.
This is a fantastic song! Very much in the vein of their previous efforts. Really looking forward to the album.
I've really been getting into Puscifer seriously and finally listened the the latest album. Tool's in my top 5, but I think I like Puscifer even more. It feels weird to say, but I think the music is even more out there than Tool. Tool being locked to basically the same instruments every song doesn't do them any creative favors. Puscifer is just fucking weird and awesome. Maynard is god.
The whole song is building tension, but it seems like there is never a pay off and that it never really climax. Good, but underwhelming at the same time.

Noice! Puscifer is the MJK project I'm most excited for these days, ha. Songs sounding fresh. And sincere thanks for using the already existing thread.
