Not bad! Just wondering, on that riff about a minute in, why do you only use your index most of the time? Seems harder to slide so much there.

 

I seem to be listening to Coldplay's new single more than LP's new single. Something must be wrong with me. Maybe it's because pop appeals more to me lately.

 

Because it's a dropped tuning. In dropped tunings the lower E string is tuned down a whole step in relation to the rest of the strings, (i.e Dropped D = DADGBE, which is standard tuning with the exception of the first string). This way in order to play the powerchords you only need your index finger as chords now would be 3-3-3 or 1-1-1 and so forth.

 

I'm talking about the riff that's played only on the A string, starting one minute into the song. He slides into each note, and I was wondering why he did that. I know how to play bar chords, I'm not THAT much of a noob.

Here's my take, and in the intro where all the instruments join in, I decided to play a different guitar layer, because it's awesome. The rhythm guitar layer I did play it throughout the rest of the song.

You know, I dunno I've been playing guitar since I was 11 and I still don't know why I do half the things I do lol. I find it easier to slide as it sounds more like the original without turning up echo or anything, as opposed to plucking every note.

Huh, girls can play guitar, who knew?

You know...the three of us should just do a collab on this to do all the parts

 

Haha okay. It does sound better, but even with barely sliding, the way I play that riff still tears up my finger.

Hahaha, sounds badass. There should totally be an LPA Band. That would be interesting. I couldn't, because I suck at guitar, but I would definitely support and cheer you two on! Maybe I can do a piano track here and there...

IDK about that. NBC doesn't spend anything on production, all they do is distribute the show. I'm pretty sure they still make a profit. Even if it does get canceled, there were 3 networks/companies interested in picking it up near the end of season 1, when the future of the show was still uncertain. I'm pretty sure it would find a new home.
