Both of these tracks are different from one another. "Fiends" is like most Xero songs. Just technical battle rapping but "Drop" has that early storytelling flow to it.
I don't know why Mike doesn't rap like that anymore. He clearly has the skill, lyricism, and ability to do so. That very technical fast wordplay is what made me like him and LP so much. I don't necessarily want HT2.0, but I would kill for mike dropping the mic like this again
This stuff and "Hybrid Theory" are worlds apart. And it's even pretty different from the other Xero/Hybrid Theory stuff. EDIT: and, also, just because you like it more doesn't mean Shinoda does, and a really technically-impressive verse won't always suit a song he's trying to write.
Yeah the only comparison these and HT have are both have complex rhyme structure but vocabulary, style, wordplay, etc. are like lightyears away. Can't even compare this stuff to HT. It's like comparing ATS to Meteora.
He's been doing this for almost twenty years, so it's clear that Mike's lyricism has aged and hasn't been as great as before. You can compare it to how Chester's voice has aged to the point that he can't scream or yelp as often as he wants to.
Wow. That was some dope shit. Amazing find indeed. I would like to listen to more of this as well, but I don't know how Mike would be able to bring this flow and energy into the type of song and lyrics they've been developing in recent years though
I think it's stonehenge riddling mystery. I also think it's medievally approaching these festivities We jump around freakily when you see me.....on PCP
"i'm fed up and i'm doing all i can do to move to a deserted island and make my own shit out of coconuts and bamboo" lyrics from Drop, now check this link out : http://www.allmusic....am-mn0001870947 Mtume Salaam is the one who sold the cds at discogs where Almamu bought them from, do you think its a coincidence ? I'm trying to get in touch with both Lee "The Crusher" Cadena and Mtume Salaam for any further info, wish me luck!!
@LP Drew We need to find volume 12. Apparently Xero is on there too. Another unheard track. Lets make it happen! If I have to buy the CD I will. Just find it, and I'll pony up.
Damn, both of those tracks were D. O. P. E. This is mainly what I miss from "old" LP, that more technical, sophisticated, rapping that also tells a story through vivid imagery. And I thought HT EP era Mike was incredible with his rhymes and flow. This Xero era Mike is something special, alright. Here's to hoping that OML will have at least one song featuring more technical, symbolic rapping. I believe that Mike still has it in him after all these years, the creative visionary that he is.
I already contacted the seller but he said only had the ones he sold me and the 15 and 16 of I recall correctly.
