Some of the greatest performers of all time didn't write their own lyrics. Writing lyrics and singing are two different talents.
*The Rock voice* IT DOESN'T MATTER IF HE'S TALENTED OR NOT.... because that talent doesn't translate into his music at all! There's no point in having talent if you don't use it!
Yeah, but are Justin's vocals even close to some of the greatest performers of all time? No. That's why I'm not giving him any slack. He's just some pretty boy who got famous because he was pretty good at singing and pretty good at guitar and now all the girls love him and throw money at him. And now Justin is just living off of that image, not his talent.
They worked with Jeff Blue in their early days, so when he was employed by Warner he issued the label an ultimatum where they had to sign the band if they wanted him as well, after most other labels had turned them down. We're on a Linkin Park board. I don't know how that automatically makes it harder for them, and I don't know why you're assuming Bieber never had to do those things. Not to mention that from what I can tell he was from a much less privileged background than most of them, and that of course he'd have to be driven around if he was in a car anyway up until about a year ago, because driving under a certain age is illegal.
Y'all are dumb, Rebecca Black has one of the most insanely catchy songs in the past couple of years. I don't know who this Jenna Rose is, it sounds like a pornstar. Bieber is Bieber, and he's swag to the maximum. HATERS GON HATE. At least it's not j-pop, right?
But she had nothing to do with it. She didn't write the lyrics, make the beats, or even share her voice (it's completely autotuned). I don't hate Rebecca Black herself, but she doesn't get any credit for Friday (which is a good thing for her, lol).
Yes, I'll take the obvious trollbait just to prove a point. J-Pop > All the above. Most of you will probably recognize a version of this (the English mix with a different bridge) from Kingdom Hearts 2.
Hey, welcome to the 21st century. All you have to do is lend your (horrible) vocals to a song written and recorded by someone else, they'll autotune it correctly, and you've already hit 1 million views before the next fortnight. You might hate the music, and I do too, but people need to start looking beyond the music and see why this stuff is actually popular and understand it, so you'll move the fuck on with your life and go back to an every day routine. I bet I could find you atleast 40 people that I know, that have heard this, and don't even think about that shit. Because, who cares? Money is to be had by all, I'd take that over a mediocre career being known as the black middle aged man that sang and recorded "Friday". Feel me?
I agree with you. I was just trying to say that Bieber isn't as bad as Black considering the fact that at least Bieber can play instruments and can sing.
*Most asian pop > Most western pop. Here's my opinion: I think Justin Bieber easily beats the two of them. Yes, he can sing with emotion. Yes, he does co-write his songs. His songs have better topics (love > jeans and fridays). But he's really overrated. I don't think he deserves to be this famous. Sure, if he was an alternative artist lets say, I'd respect him a little. But there are thousands of other musicians that are so much better than him. Rebecca black is only famous cause of that creepy ark music factory guy and her rich parents who paid him money to produce one of the worst songs ever, if not the worst. Jenna rose... just like one of the members here said, her name sounds like a porn star. and she's terriBAD.
And J-Pop artists do western pop better than most western pop artists.
On a related note, how far into this video can you get without laughing? GO.
I'd let her jack my swag At least she's writing about current events that don't involve days of the week. That's also better content than love lyrics.
