Chester has won me over big time recently with STP (STP are my favorite band, I'm into classic and 90's rock some younger bands like The Killers and Cage The Elephant). I've never been a big Linkin Park fan (at least in the last 4-5 years or so), when I was younger though I enjoyed their early rockier hits like Numb and Crawling. Also enjoyed Faint, liked them generally back then as a kid. I haven't been a fan of their electronic stuff from the last few years at all (at least the stuff I've heard on the radio) and seem to lean towards their rockier side, really liked New Divide when that came out. I also tend to prefer songs where Chester is singing the lead vocals. So any 'rock leaning' Linkin Park or Chester song recommendations? I know he had that 90's band Grey Daze and did another project as well.

Rockier side with Chester on lead, I'd say MTM is probably a record for you. It's not really an heavy record, but all the songs on it are pretty organic, and Chester is the lead singer on almost all songs. Some songs you might like...

    Given Up
    What I've Done
    No More Sorrow
    In Pieces
The Little Things Give You Away

And actually, there are some b-sides that also seem to fit with what you're looking for.

Across The Line (you NEED to listen to that one :D Love that song!)
    Pretend to Be
    What We Don't Know

If you want a "rockier" Chester, you should definitely listen to his side project, "Dead By Sunrise" . He sings lead on their entire album and there are almost no electronic elements, if any at all. I really recommend that for what you're looking for.

This. I don't like it, but you should listen to it if you want rock stuff.

And MTM is an album to start with on LP for you.

Yep. I think Minutes to Midnight is a balanced record between their "rocky" side and their new direction, it was the first one to lean that way after all. Also Dead By Sunrise (side project) is a nice suggestion, quite a few around here are not fond of it but I am one who really likes it and it showcases that classic-rock side Chester has. 'Crawl Back In' is an awesome tune and one of my favorite songs from his side project is "In The Darkness".

And just in case if you really wanna go left field, try A Thousand Suns

This is probably a bad idea but I recommend all their singles first. :p

You should definitely check out some of the covers he has done with Camp Freddy, those are rock Chester at his best. He has also done an amazing duet with Chris Cornell of the song Hunger Strike and recorded a vesion of Home Sweet Home with Mötley Crüe.

Come on  He's asking for 'rock leaning' LP songs and 'Chester songs', why NRL? xD .. Even being rock LP it has zero Chester.

The Catalyst although epic I wouldn't call it rock leaning, The Messenger either..

I know you mentioned Grey Daze, but have you listened to any of the tracks? If not I could definitely recommend quite a few of those as there's a very obvious Scott Weiland influence on many of the tracks.

Why would you recommend something that you don't like yourself?

Ah. Speaking about Dead By Sunrise.. There's a bonus track for the Japanese edition of Out of Ashes called "Morning After", you can find it around the internet but while this song is really cool, I strongly recommend you this version I'm linking below, which was released for the Underworld: Evolution soundtrack and it dates prior to the formation of DBS, that one along with "Let Down" were the first (publicly made) tracks that showcased Chester working with Amir Derakh.

Because there is a such thing as different tastes.

I have personally praised albums which I know are well crafted, but I would never really listen to.
