From MTV.com It's about time someone stepped up to the masses, hopefully the album will sound just like that!
There's a couple reasons why the could be happy. One is that he came out and basically said "artists get screwed" like he got screwed on the song "Hero" or that when it comes to rocking a show transplanted bands like The Vines, The Strokes, The Darkness, etc (see a trend in naming) can't get the job done like some American bands. They do good in home countries but not that well here. Some people forget that music released here isn't always released somewhere else and vice-versa.Or they could be happy because he's saying "f**k the record label and their tricks where's my money?". Most artists just bend over and take it. I have no clue why they're happy.
I hate it when mainstream bands fight with each other. They are both clueless and think they deserve everything. I don't want to see The Strokes in concert and I don't want to see Salivia in concert. There are just too many bands out there that put on a lot better of a show than they have probably ever seen.
Josey Scott soounds like Fred Durst in that rant. But it's a sad thing that he got screwed on "Hero". That was one of the biggest songs of 2002.
That was a shitty handshake deal. Getting paid 40,000 dollars to appear in a video, how about 40,000 dollars to make a video. The only way he's getting paid for that #### is from the movie's DVD and soundtrack sales. And yea he sounds like Fred Durst in that rant. and if Chester gets screwed over cash in the future I'd imagine he'll go off like that too :chemist:
That's hilarious. I don't like Saliva. Josey deserved to not get paid just because I don't like them. :chemist:
I guess Chad got paid more than Josey. About $5,001. Jeez, i think that dude's just trying to starta buzz over the band. Why did he remember Hero right before Saliva's new album?
That's exactly what he's doing. He's trying to make hype about his band's album by saying that it's "real" or whatever he said. I couldn't really follow him. He sounded too much like Fred Durst.
Yeah, he isn't aware that we have already realized how messed up the music business is. If he's complaining about not being able to make the music they want to, like a lot of bands do, why not just make an EP for the fanclub or something? Surely, it couldn't be that hard. At least make some songs and leak them out on the net to showcase the music you really want.
I think a good many musician's these days are whiny little assholes. I mean, doin' the math, I haven't made $5,000 in my ENTIRE LIFE. And I've been around for 14 years. So what, he got screwed? Yeah, it's "bulls---", but hey, in the immortal words of Jack Black "Rockin' ain't no walk in the park." Tough s--- for you, Scott, go promote your new album and shut your uneducated mouth. Damn whiny rock stars. [/end rant] Anyways, Saliva's music isn't that bad, but I think this is just a publicity grab. "No publicity is bad publicity" as the saying goes, and here's he's just getting publicity. Damn whiny rockstars.
You probably haven't earned 14 from a job or something, but you've definitely had more than $5 grand spent in your name (food, clothes, the computer you're on).
You probably haven't earned 14 from a job or something, but you've definitely had more than $5 grand spent in your name (food, clothes, the computer you're on).
That's what he meant. He hasn't earned $5000 and Josey is complaining that he only GOT $5000.
That's what he meant. He hasn't earned $5000 and Josey is complaining that he only GOT $5000.
Will's got it. I meant like what I've earned from allowance and odd jobs I've done. I haven't even made $5,000 dollars yet, but he's whining about getting only 5 grand for ONE song. Granted, he's a bit older than me (prolly twice my age), but still.
That's what he meant. He hasn't earned $5000 and Josey is complaining that he only GOT $5000.
Uh, ok then. I guess I addressed his statement incorrectly.
No offense, but I really don't think it matters... that's like comparing a Target employee's salary to a rock star's salary (no offense). It's not a valid comparison. I'm sorry, but if a single I contributed to made hundreds of thousands of dollars (I would guess it made at least half a million, but that's just a guess) then I'd want more than 5 grand, too. Not to mention Nickelback's sales probably got a major boost while Saliva's did not.
