Saosin's new album "In Search of Solid Ground" is set to be released September 8th, 2009. They are currently on tour headlining with The Warped Tour. You can purchase a download card at the Sao merch tent which is a pre-order for the album, and will get you two new songs for download. "On My Own" and "Is This Real"
I love Saosin. I listened to their first album yesterday and realised how much I loved them. So EXCITED!!!
I'm going to check this out, though I'm not as big a fan as I used to be. There self-titled was good but got quite boring quite quickly, imo. It just seemed a bit too mid-tempo all the way through. And I lost faith in them a little bit when I was them live last, the band just seemed really uninterested in what they were doing... But like I said, I will give it a listen, see how it pans out as they do have some potential.
I agree... I do honestly think their first album is almost flawless for what it is, but a little more variation in the tempo would be welcome.
From people who have heard it, from the Saoboards. They say that there is something for everyone on it, really great solid album I guess. But the download page for the 2 songs is broken apparently so no one has been able to get the songs yet.
I honestly don't understand how they've been able to tour on the self titled for so long... must've been a drag. I don't think this album will be able to live up to people's expectations. Though, if it does, awesome, because I really liked the first album.
I think the first album was poor because Cove hadn't quite found himself. It was his first time being a frontman EVER and for such a big band, they jumped right into writing and got songs done. From videos of the new songs live, he seems to be more in his comfort zone.
Those tracks off of the "Grey" EP had better not be on it ... I mean, they were okay and all but I have hopes this album will be a bit more aggressive, musically, than what I heard in those songs.
Those were just demos. Just like the Black EP had demo version of the same songs which sounded WAY better on the album. (Except Bury Your Head was much better on the Black EP) I have both of these new tracks and Let me say, they are fucking WAY better than the first album. Cove has improved so much and he has found his own voice.
Yeah, I know -- but, just personally, I've overplayed them, like everyone else must've done with "Bury Your Head" back in the day, I guess. And, not to say I disagree, but I still don't fully understand what makes that version of "Bury Your Head" better than the version on the debut album ...
I find it more raw and more heartfelt. The one on the album felt like they had done it a hundred times and just wanted to get it recorded. Just the feeling you get from the vocals. Plus I like the smooth kind of mysterious vibe you get from it on The Black EP.
On My Own, Is This Real and the Keep Secrets demo have really given me high expectations for this album. For the record, I did like the Love Maker and Why Can't You See demos, but I didn't think they were as good as the Keep Secrets demo.
Apparently, "I Keep My Secrets Safe" is the 1st track on the album. You can expect new versions of all 3 songs to be on the album. I know they reworked the Secrets chorus and stuff.
I listened to the new tracks; they sound really good. I never held much apprehension about this album but now I'm looking forward to it that little bit more.
I have a full video of "I Keep My Secrets Safe" That I will put on youtube soon. It's different than The Grey EP version. Until I get it up, here is the other video I got... EDIT: Here it is "I Keep My Secrets Safe"
