Doesn't bother me any...as long as they are screwed up enough to keep coming up with such fucked up traps. This one does have me kinda weary with the people who scripted Feast at the helm. Mainly because Feast was a hilarious movie...not a thing like Saw. It was more like Evil Dead.
i'm really excited, but I was not after the movie for the gore and blood, I love the story and JigSaw. I think I was the only one to yell "you mother fucker" at the end of Saw 3 when the Jeff killed John "JigSaw" Kramer. lol with that being said, what would the IV story be about? I heard it's going to be a prequel, hence why they showed his wife in his dilusional state, etc. Either way, Tobin Bell (JigSaw) signed on for 5 sequels, so he will almost definitely be in it. It's our generation's Michael Myers.... except actually cool.
YAY FOR SPOILERS WARNINGS. [/sarcasm] :| just cause its a post about the next saw, don't mean you can't still censor shit. jesus.
This is going to be the black sheep of the series. It's going to have the cliche "bad horror film" plot I always dread. Not really looking forward to it. Saw III should have ended the whole thing.
sorry. it's getting close to a month of being released and this thread was about Saw IV, so I figured only people that saw III would be in here, I apologize. and to Franny, I fear this will be the "Halloween 3" of the Saw Series, in which it will carry the franchise's name, but not contain the main character (JigSaw)
So far there hasn't been a Saw movie that's disappointed me in any way, so I'm excited for it. On the other hand, I'm thinking this is going to be where it starts going downhill and just won't stop a la Friday The 13th.
I agree, this is where the SAW franchise begins to suffer... because it's going to be milked for all its worth. I mean, how can you continue a franchise like SAW without ANY of the original writers? SAW II was good, but not great. That's because it was not a script originally written by and for a SAW movie, and also wasn't directed by James Wan (who directed and co-wrote the first SAW). Although I give my props to Darren Bousman (director and co-writer of SAW II and SAW III), without at least Leigh Whannel (co-writer of SAW franchise), who seems to have grasped the right concept of SAW... I think it's going to be heading in a bad direction. SPOILERS! (although it was already mentioned in this thread) With the ending of SAW III and Jigsaw seemingly killed... What's left for them to do? You can't go too far back into Jigsaw's life. Why? Simply because John didn't become the mastermind known as Jigsaw until a little while before the first SAW takes place. We've already learned that John turned over a new leaf when he got cancer and failed to commit suicide, we also know soon after he was admitted for medical evaluation and was done so by Dr. Gordon from the first SAW. If you look at that chronologically, there's no room for an entire movie to be made. I'm sure they could write how Jigsaw probably made a few mistakes along the way... maybe miscalculating a trap here and there, but there would be no real moral value in the SAW movies from thereon out. Jigsaw's plan is to make people realize they need to value their lives... If we see all his failures up until when the first SAW takes place or they build his character too much, there's not much to go on that's solid... just a watered down premise with a lot of gore thrown in to follow the SAW trend. Jigsaw was made to be cryptic and mysterious... He should stay cryptic and mysterious. That's just me, though. I will reserve full judgment until more details are released, though. :\
I agree and agree Kaeton. SPOILERS (sorry about last time, ) but there are a FEW things that could be continued with the fourth one. 1. the girl is trapped in that one "cell" with limited oxygen 2. jeff is still alive and knows of this 3. even though they went over almost every death from the previous movies, dr. gordon STILL has not been shown dead or alive... since Amanda really was just a murderer, like when she killed Adam, that means that JigSaw must have seen Dr. Gordon and let him go, but WHERE did he let him go to? 4. danny glover's character got his throat slit, but lived..... jeff didn't dig very deep into jigsaw's throat, maybe he could still be alive, but since jeff failed HIS "lesson", JigSaw "killed" Lynn by getting cut and pushing some kind of button that made his monitor flatline (wishful thinking ) lol 5. there is still that tape on JigSaw's "stand" beside his bed that he covered in wax, what was on that tape?!? 6. they showed flashbacks of JigSaw when he was "healthy" and with his wife... there could be a whole sub story within that. 7. there may be more I'm missing, but I didn't catch every tiny detail in the first run, I need to see it again. AHHHH! so much, I LOVE the Saw Series, can't wait til this comes out on DVD so I can watch it over and over, lol, should be around Feb/March like last year. only time will tell and I will have to keep an open mind until I hear more details, as well
well i like saw as much as the next blood/gore hungry person but three is enough for me. Saw XXXXll coming in cinemas soon, 2030
Yeah, I can't see how Saw 4 will work without Jigsaw, although I will wait to see it / recieve more details before I give full judgement. 1. I'm pretty sure she dies. Jigsaw said to Jeff at the start of his task that he will come face to face with his childs killer, he wasn't refering to his sons killer, but himself, in that he would be the one to kill his daughter. 3. Yeah, Gordon may still be alive, but if he is what possible story can derive from that? He learned his lesson and there's nothing left for him. 6. That is premise for a prequel, but prequels suck. Kind of ruins the "anything can happen" feeling associated with the Saw movies. Whatever happens, I look forward to.
There's a possibility of a story being based around Jeff and his daughter and whatever but then it'd just be like, SAW III 2 :\ Let's just hope that the makers don't fuck it all up by milking it.
Everyone should put the spoilers in a black color Ive seen it already, but i would be bummed if I knew that blablabla would blablabla. you know Saw 3 was a bit over the top though. spoiler -> with the surgery performed on jigsaw, yuck
I have mixed feelings about this because of the mess they made at the end of Saw III. They totally screwed over my favorite movie character of all time. (Amanda)
But he does end up meeting his son's killer. Remember the black guy in that one trap? He was the one that drove the car which hit his son, but I see what you mean. I never looked at it that way.
