Seethers new album "Holding On To Strings Better Left To Fray" is being released on May 17th and today the new single "Country Boy" is out. Check out the first single from the album below. Shaun Morgan said this isn't an indication of how the rest of the album is going to sound by any means. What do you think and who's looking forward to the album? I've always liked Seether, they're one of the better the bands in their category and the new single sounds catchy enough to be a good first single despite not being anything too new.
It sounds like someone doing a bad Seether impression, actually. Here's hoping the rest of the album is better, but I think Karma and Effect was their peak.
I loved Karma and Effect. This song is just very odd... The country riff and beat and the fact that Shaun put a little twang in his voice is just... weird... At the same time though, I thought waiting for the end sounded really weird when I first heard it.
I don't like it at all. Then again, I never really liked anything they recorded except that song with Amy from Evanescence.
Ugh, that is one of only a few songs I can't stand by Seether. Mostly because I dislike Amy Lee's voice. I love the original version without her though. This is a weird song. The only one that reminds me of it is Fake It, but even then not really. It's not bad but I suspect it will be one of the weakest on the album. At least I hope. And I still think the original version of Disclaimer is there best album, I didn't like the changes they made in Disclaimer II with the original tracks.
Bah that was the worst move for the band to make. That song ruined Seether for me. Mainly because Amy Lee sounds like she's having a cord wrapped around her throat and she's trying to sing. Seether were good with Remedy and Let Me Go.
lol, yeah, nothing needs more Amy Lee. Especially a Seether song. Songs like this are no surprise for a first single, Wind Up always release the bounciest, upbeat, radio-rock catchy song as the first single from their albums. All of Seether's best songs are the ones that never get released as a single unfortunately (or fortunately depending how you look at it). I'm looking forward to the rest of the album.
Since they worked with Brenden O'Brien my expectation are higher, but Seether are what they are and that's all they'll ever be. With that said the single is catchy as hell.
