In what has to be the most creepy story involving Linkin Park I've ever reported, Richard Paul White, a serial killer in Colorado, Denver, recently spoke out from jail to CBS News, claiming Metallica and Linkin Park influenced him to kill.

"I would listen, actually, to Linkin Park before I would kill.", said White. "And while I was killing usually that music Linkin Park was on."

White has confessed to six different counts of murder in Denver. You can watch the entire fourty-eight minute interview here.

I think it is really fucking moronic that you let music influence you to murder people.

That's total bullshit. People always have to blame someone else for their problems. I hope Linkin Park doesn't take anything bad from this. It's not their fault this guy has problems. I don't see how music can make anyone murder someone.

    Thats terrible.
whats sad is that this will either hurt LPs career or help it by giving them a darker image.

It's the American tragedy. It's the parents that leave it to TV to raise their kids. It's their fault.

Stories like this piss me off. There's no need for them to be reported. Correlating someone's actions to music is like correlating it to the type of clothing they wear, or the things they eat, or the couch they sit on. It doesn't have any relationship. Its just another stereotype that dimwitted morons point at and gasp when searching for a greater meaning about why someone did something horrible.

Why not report on the killer's REAL motives, if there are any. Printing stuff like this is a waste of time and braincells.

    ..that's true.

Some people have told me that LP and other bands are all like dark and like depressing, this story doesn't help it.

Wasn't there some kid that was the shooter in a school shooting or something and he said he liked LP so the band got criticized or something? Awhile ago..

you cant blame LP for influencing someone to kill people.

the person has issues of their own and is simply trying to pass the buck

I agree with what everyone had just said. THis is completely shallow and stupid to believe that music can motivate some psychopath to kill 6 people. Nobody ever thinks about the fact that violent movies, or maybe just the fact that this guy has some serious issues correlates with his actions.
