First episode of season 3 is out. Spoilers follows... I actually think its clever how they gave us multiple explanations for what actually went down. And that meta jab at fans (via the The Empty Hearse leader) was simply brilliant.
SPOILER I still don't know if we've been given the actual explanation for the jump since it still didn't make any sense. And it looks like Anderson is going insane. New villain?
^(Spoiler) I loved that they were inconclusive as to how Sherlock survived. They absolutely did a perfect job IMO of suggesting what could have happened and leaving hints of disbelief with the theories. And yeah, Anderson could be a possible new villain, as can the leader of the Empty Hearse and the mysterious train bomber?(/Spoiler) A fantastic way to start the new season and a great episode overall. Can't wait for the next episode.
The only thing I didn't like about the new episode (and it's not necessarily its fault since it's the start of a new arc) is how chaotic it was. There was just so many things being squeezed into 90 mins that the character development felt a little rushed and the plot just was a bit confusing for me.
What development? They've been developed for 2 seasons now What's strange is the scheduling for this series... Episode 1 - January 1 Episode 2 - January 5 Episode 3 - January 12 Strange...
I really enjoyed the new episode for all the great humor, but I agree. Way, way too much happening for one episode. It felt a bit rushed. But still, it's Sherlock. Really looking forward to 302.
Moffat needs to take a nap - "The Sign of Three" was all over the place, and I mean ALL over the place.
Spoilers follow... the cameraman plot seemed quite obvious when they nailed him. the whole army general mystery seemed forced, like they just included it for the sake of having a mystery. but the way they built up to it was awesome... before it, it wasn't really going anywhere tbh! i was really wishing that it would lead to the big baddie of the season... disappointed that it didn't. these wouldn't even be complains tbh... but when you have just 3 episode seasons every 1/2 year you expect heartthumping/edge of the seat stuff every episode.
I think they toned down the suspense a little in order to make John's wedding that much more special. And damn this episode was so fucking funny. Drunk Sherlock and John is hilarious.
Well, they are feature-length episodes, plus Doyle's work isn't something to be exercised into the typical 8-hour season; unless you were doing something like Elementary of course. (Which is shit btw imo) Best spoiler prevention system ever. Why hasn't anyone told me about this before?
Totally agree! Everything was perfect but the ending was meh. Introducing the main bad guy this episode could have been a good time. We'll have to see, though. *Edit* Could someone tell me how I can make quoted invisible text invisible?
That and you sometimes have to use colored text, as to match the color with the background, because that's how invisible tags work.
You can use color codes but that just seems like a lot of work haha. I'm generally lazy and just choose the quote the portion of the quote that doesn't contain the spoilers
