just thought I'd let everyone know that (the new) Evans Blue has posted a clip of their new track "Sick Of It" from their June 23rd Self-titled album. Check it out at: http://www.myspace.com/evansblue I'm not sure what to think about it. I know it's only a 30+ second clip, so I can't base any solid judgment off of it, but I absolutely love Evans Blue's two CDs and even their unfinished/rough 3rd album that Kevin Matisyn released 'without' the other band members' permission, but now they have a new lead singer and it sounds like they're getting away from that beautiful, defining Evans Blue sound and going more-so into the radio friendly rock. Not that I mind, but god dammit, why can't people just get along anymore and THINK OF THE CHILDREN! People getting along meaning Kevin Matisyn not being a dick and leaving/being kicked out of the band and the children being all of us fans Thoughts?
Matisyn's voice was so unique - it's what made them stand out. They'll probably just be "radio friendly rock" from now on - and, like you said, there isn't anything wrong with that. I'll check it out
...I hate the new clip haha, I don't really like his voice. It feels plain. And I would like to point out how TERRIBLE their myspace layout looks.
In the verses, the vocalist sounds a bit like Ben Burnley, which I like. Then the chorus kicked in and it just got too generic. I think what interested me in Evans Blue so much was the uniqueness of the vocalist. The new one is by no means bad, just bland.
