Naaah i don't think so, remember meteora ? there didn't take shots for a heavy song at all (Somwhere IB, From TI, Breaking TH, Faint, Numb) they didn't pay attention to the REAL heavy ones like Hit the floor, Lying ..., Figure09....etc and i got angry for that lol. so i think they'll do the same here. If they decided not to and take shots for some heavy songs like they did for their 1st album Hybrid ... it will be awesome
This song is a great song because its very dynamic. It starts off slow and builds more and more up through the bridge until it becomes this epic powerhouse of a song by the last chorus. That right there is going to win Linkin Park some fans just by the musicianship they show in this song. It's very well done.
I've got a serious question for everyone. Did anyone else notice how the... um, beginning - the beat - sounds very much like some Nine Inch Nails song that was mildly popular at some point or another? I think it was called... I'm not sure, but I think it was called "Closer" or something like that.
To some people the bassline sounds like some random U2 song from back in the day... 'WIth or Without You' I think it was?
I know. ...is it just me, or does this song sound like something from that one nu-metal band Linkin Park?
LPTimes has posted a valid-looking single cover for Shadow of the Day: http://www.linkin-park.it/e107_images/newspost_images/sotd.jpg I post this because i visit LPA and LPT practically everyday.
yes i like shadowoftheday. but does a song need to be a single to be played on the radio? Ive heard ShadowOfTheDay,HandsHeldHigh,InPieces,GivenUp,NoMoreSorrow and sometimes i hear the radio playing qwerty. are they allowed to play them if they are not singles?
I think it's a good choice for a single. Both WID & BIO reflected their past sound in some way(s), but this one is completely new. I think through the release of this single people will actually see how much LP has changed. So yeah, I support SOTD. Btw, I hope Joe directs a brilliant video for this awesome song!
Holy shit, I finally decided to check out U2's With or Without You single from 1987? The songs resembles each other an awful lot..I wonder if this is gonna hurt Linkin Park more than it would help them.
That's a good point actually. The two songs are so alike they could definatly be used as a mash-up song.
That would be awesome. Funny how most of our assumptions of which songs would be selected to be the next singles after What I've Done ended up incorrect thus far.
I think SOTD is a smart single actually. It resembles their new style, and I'm not gonna lie, I think it's a great song. I hope the video is just as good as WID's was, I didn't like the BIO very much. I hope this video has a lot going on in it.
SOTD is surely a great song, but imho this is not the right choice. If I were to choose the next single, I'd myself choose LOATR or NMS
no -- "leave out all the rest" would get annoying if it's played on the radio. it's just one of those songs. releasing "no more sorrow" is basically giving away the A-material and i doubt they could back that up with another single. no, practically the whole song sounds like "with or without you"!
