Anyone know how to get free instant messaging minutes?

Not asking for links just wondering if it's possible.

 

isn't that always free? I thought it was, last time I used skype I didn't have to pay to IM anyone.

 

If it is, my bad. I was sure when I downloaded last time you couldn't. If it's free I apologize for taking up space.

 

What to you mean, the chat thingy where you can chat with people online or do you mean text sms? I haven't used skype in a year or two, so I don't really know if it has sms but when I used skype IM was free.

 

For skype, IMing and making Skype-to-Skype phone calls are free. However, you have to pay to make phone calls to land lines/cell phones.

 

I tried it and it says I have to pay to send sms messages.

I'll stick with MSN I guess but I was thinking Skype would let me send/recieve pic messages and I think MSN doesn't deliver to certain phones and a lot of times my messages don't go through at all.

 

SMS isn't the same as IM.. I don't think. But there are a lot of sites online that you can use to send text messages such as http://pics.811.com/
