Hey i just wanted to open this to get your opinions on SlipKnoT personally i think they kick a**. specially coreys screaming voice.

 

My opinion on this thread is that its in the wrong forum

Slipknot are cool though

 

I love Slipknot, they are my third favourite band ever.
I also managed to catch thme live with Slayer last year and oh my god did they blow me away.

 

They only have like, two or three good songs. The rest border on the line of ear rape.

I first hated them too, but they have some nice songs though. But I still think their masks are stupid.

SlipKnot is nothing special in my book.

 

Slipknot is okay. Unlike most people, I prefer their heavier stuff, compared to their recent stuff. I didn't think Vol. 3 was that good, to be honest. I liked some stuff off of it, though.

About the masks, I think it's a good idea. In the beginning, no one knew what they looked like, so when Wait & Bleed and other hits happen, they didn't have to have like, 40 bodyguards. They could go out with only hardcore fans knowing what they looked like.

But then To My Surprise, The Murderdolls & Stone Sour happen, so we all know what some members of the band look like now.

 

Personally, I don't like them. I like there gutair work and side projects though.

 

ya i do like the masks too and thats a pretty good list of songs. i like a few songs off vol. 3 a lot but the others are ok.

 

Same. I think the heart of the band lies in Joey, his drumming is amazing. His old band was better (Modifious), but I have no problem with his arrangements now. I just feel he's...misplaced.

All in all, I hate Slipknot's angsty lyrics and terrible image (I thought Criss-Cross went out of style in the early 90s)...

 

Well i like them their lyrics have matured a lot.I mean Iowa had lyrics like "F--- this,F--- that".But subliminal has lyrics we can actually relate to.Great band.By the way i like stonesour as well

 

'Vol 3.0 : The subliminal verses' is pretty good. Although I never listen to it anyway . But they have some good songs.

 

The only slipknot that I think is good, is the newer stuff. They've changed for the better because IMO, they used to be crap.

 

I also like the old stuff better but I don't think there's anything wrong with their new material.

I think that those that you listed are some of the best slipknot songs, but I really can't stand 'Snap'.




And I think Stonesour are also amazing. Don't forget their new album out this September

 

"slipknot" was amazing.. i didn't like"iowa" that much. the new stuff is great.they really did something different this time..

 

i think the they sounded the best on vol 3.. after listening to iowa, i expected it to be packaged with blood packets or something cuz it was so extreme.. they have a tour comin up and im planning on going to the des moines date cuz i go to school in ames which is like 30 mins away.. i think thatd be pretty hardcore to see them live in their home town.. im not a huge fan but id pay to see them live..

 

I really only like one song by them, Vermillon Pt. 2.
