Korn seems to be going the rap route, and the next album will feature a shitload of producers and guests. Not sure what to think. "Get Up" was ok but dubstep/house music kind of blows but Korn being weird tends to be my favorite kind of Korn.
I've heard about this, and at first I thought "hey, Korn is being a little bit innovative". But now I'm having second thoughts like "hey, Korn is just following a fad to make some quick cash", but they already have plenty of money, and I don't think theyd wanna piss off fans if they didnt want to experiment.
Opinions are opinions. I think dubstep's fun as shit, as is most electronic music, which seems to be the opposing opinion this early in the thread. Do I think KoRn can pull it off? Probably not.
THIS And THIS. On a side note about Korn's music, I can't get into songs about being bullied on the playground during recess anymore...
It had a couple of good songs, but got old even faster than Meteora. Admittedly, it's a lot better than everything they put out after that. Except Love Song, I love the unplugged version.
I actually think Take A Look In The Mirror was their last good album, but it still doesn't explain why they've pretty much been terrible since then. Losing an original member should not mean that you lose your ability to make decent music. Plenty of bands have lost members, and still made good music. Case in point: Alice In Chains.
Take A Look In The Mirror was pretty much Korn's Meteora. I barely even liked it when it was released, and I was about 12 and kind of big on nu-metal back then.
I am...cautiously optimistic. This has the potential to swing either way. I thought Get Up was a great song. Not sure an entire album of that would be up to par however. Take A Look In The Mirror was seriously disappointing, then again I think that the Untitled album is their best work lol
I'd like to echo Blackee's sentiments that Untouchables was a great CD. Easily their most underrated disc.
I always thought the only REAL terrible album they put out was Untitled. Take a Look in the Mirror, See You on the Other Side, and Korn III: Remember Who You Are aren't masterpieces by any means, but they each have their moments, and enough of them, to where I can't call any of them horrible albums. In fact, i feel their latest release is their best since Untouchables. They didn't n00b it up by going back to their roots.
Haha, everyone hates untitled. I really liked it, it was like a lesser Untouchables. It's been one of my favorites of theirs since it came out. Remember Who You Are was ok. When I first heard they were going to try and make a "third real Korn album", I expected a humiliating failure. For what it was, they pulled it off really well. Even if that they actually titled it "Korn 3" still makes me laugh.
I actually forgot all about Untitled surprisingly. That album was one of my favorites when it came out, I was one of the few who liked it.
All time favorite would probably be the Unplugged, but that's live and I'm not entirely sure it counts I like every song on it barring Freak On A Leash, I don't care for Amy Lee's voice. As for studio Untouchables and Untitled are tied. I like the letter u I suppose. I still haven't heard Korn 3. I thought Oildale, while catchy, was stupid and needlessly whiny and never bothered to check the album out. Should I?
