Good luck with that stick shift, I can't drive stick but I intend to learn how to. I say learn from your parents/friends who drive stick shifts, and even the person you're buying it from because a lot of Civic drivers like to be street racers, and street racers usually prefer manual over auto transmission.

Stick shift is the shifting stick on manual transmission cars. i remember my bro drove in a stick shift for the first time and he stalled...A LOT. My suggestion is to get a little experience with the car in a parking lot or small back roads (kind of like driving with a permit right? )

    OK, here's how it goes.

When you wanna shift, remove your feet from the gas pedal, but don't let the RPM drop too much. Put your left feet on the clutch, push the clutch down and shift. Release smoothly, up to where you feel the "friction point" then release fully but still slowly and at the same time put your feet on the gas smoothly.

Take it easy on the clutch, if you go too fast you stall.

Edit : I did a small mistake in my post that would've almost have killed your car... Or your reputation at least.

The two only problems you could encounter with driving stick is if your left handed it will be a pain in the a**. The other problem is timing.
