I think System of a Down is a great band. Their style is unique and can go from heavy/death metal to a soft mourning tone. Their kinda weird though, but that adds flavor. Mike Shinoda listened to their self-titled debut album, called System of a Down (i'm not being redundant ). What do you people think about them?
Yes, they're awesome, I agree. I love their unique style. As you said they use so many different elements in their song writing. Personally though, I like their first album because it was so much more original and quirky than their second one! Fav songs: Soil, Mind, PLUCK, Sugar, Toxicity, Shimmy, and Streamline.
To sum it up qucik: First album - amazing. Second album - okay. Third album - crap. So now, I think they're crap.
The last album wasn't even new material. Wait for their new album coming out next year for a better opinion! I thought STA was as good as Toxicity actually, more like the self-titled!

Actually I think that Serj has the best voice out there! And the lyrics can be crazy but they can also be serious and meaningful!
SOAD is cool. But i don't think i would ever buy an album of theirs. I have really only heard stuff from Toxicity and i think Aerials is their best song.
System of a Down are ok. I have only heard stuff from Toxicity so yeah, the other stuff might be better. I might get the albums off someone
I found "Toxicity" in school (propably someone through it out), and I listened to it and it sucked. The only good songs in that cd are Chop Suey and Aerials. I also liked how they did the protest thing for Iraq in the Boom video because I'm from Iraq. But they're just not my style.
