    100 Best Drummers

Here's the Top 10 for those who want to take a quick peek:

    1. Mike Bonham (Led Zeppelin)
    2. Keith Moon (The Who)
    3. Neil Peart (Rush) (w00t)
    4. Danny Carey (Tool) (w00t)
    5. Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) (w00t)
    6. Ginger Baker (Cream)
    7. Bill Bruford (Yes)
    8. Ian Piace (Deep Purple)
    9. Terry Bozio (Frank Zappa, Jeff Beck)
    10. Jordey Jordison (Slipknot)

Personally I agree with the top ten, with the exception of maybe Moon (around #5) and Jordey Jordison (around #11-15).

Other notables are Charlie Watts (The Rolling Stones) at #16, Chad Smith (Red Hot CP) at #36, Josh Freese (A Perfect Circle) at #40, Lars Ulrich (Metallica) at #52, and John Dolmayan (SOAD) at #93...

I can't believe P.O.D.'s drummer, Wuv, isn't on the list. He's an amazing, amazing drummer.

Lars at 52, eh? Gah, I like John from SOAD, too.

By the way, I knew you'd enjoy that link, Jeff. ^_^ Have you tried playing it in that special order, yet?

    LARS IN THE TOP 100?
Urlich can't play with a Pepsi can, much more with a drum kit.

P.S.: Nu metal is so discriminated against, they would never include Rob or Otto, or even Wuv. They will forever choose those paranoids who play the drums just as fast as they can, not giving a damn about the music. With only a few exceptions, o'course.

@ Phantom DUck- Nu-metallers just aren't as talented. How can you compare Rob to Mike Bonham or Danny Carey or Neil Peart? And they also are more musical as well as talented. Listen to Danny Carey and how his beats fit in so well with the music! ie. Lateralus, Aenima

And Lars was awesome back in the 80s. Listen to their album 'Master of Puppets'. Not St. Anger!

You can compare him to Slipknot's drummer who's #10 or to SOAD's drummer.

Go listen to Lateralus by Tool, go download a drum solo by Neil Peart, or any LZ song to see what I mean. I like John (SOAD) but he can't hold a candle to these guys.

As for Slipknot, he's good, but speed isn't everything, like you said.

Rob is not exceptional as let's say Portnoy from Dream Theather but he should have been somewhere there...

Rob usnt that good, even though he got better on Meteora. Josh Freese should be way up there, and Travis Barker should be around there somewhere, hes endorsed by Orange County.
    EDIT: Nevermind, hes on there.

    Hell yeah!
If slipknot's drummer is there, he should be as well. And anyway, his drums sound like bass sometimes, he's a gifted drummer.
